If you’re looking for legit tacos in Buenos Aires, you’ve found your spot! Created by a San Diego (California, USA) native, they KNOW what actual Mexican food is. I’ve tried most of the varieties here:
Birria- cheesy, crispy hard shell tacos, with tasty beef broth/ consommé to dip them in
Pollo- flavorful, with ACTUAL spice, when true “picante” can be hard to find in BA
Carnitas- my personal fave: shredded, slow cooked & then fried pork…very flavorful…
“Gringo”- modeled after Taco Bell soft shell tacos: flour tortillas w/ ground beef, onions, tomatoes & sour cream…I would just have them add cheese next time…
Good drinks (I don’t love the “Tequila Nacional”, but their passion fruit/ Maracuya gin & tonics are bangin’), fair prices, a cozy & fun vibe, with outdoor space for when the weather is nice.
I’ve been a few times, most recently for a Cinco De Mayo (Mexican Independence Day) celebration that was a blast…with a live Mariachi band, followed by a DJ who spun Spanish & English faves, while everyone got up & danced (this is where the tasty bebidas came in handy, lol)
Definitely worth a stop if you’re overdosing on steaks, and wanna change things up a bit. And an absolute “must try” for those, like me, feeling a bit homesick and wanting some Mexican comfort food (via The...
Read moreTaco God, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was the perfect venue for our recent Super Bowl celebration. The accommodating staff allowed us to rent out the restaurant, making it a fantastic and unforgettable experience. The food, while non-traditional by Argentine standards, was perfect for a North American football party. It offered a traditional party atmosphere for those looking to live it up. However, the special menu items we requested were a bit lackluster in flavor, which is understandable. The cocktails, on the other hand, were fantastic and offered great value for the money. In conclusion, while the food may have needed more spice for my taste, Taco God received top ratings in all other categories, including its fantastic service, lively atmosphere, and delicious cocktails. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fun and memorable time with good drinks and...
Read moreAs soon as we enter and before we could say hi they kicked us out saying they would not serve us because there was going to be a public transport strike and employee were going to leave early. However the strike was not in place that day, it was set to the day after and they said via phone we could go to eat yet five minutes earlier.
I suspect there was discrimination involve in the refusal of service and the place is not high end enough to justify that.
There were a group still eating with no rush and signs were up like nothing.
40 minutes to prepare and eat a couple of tacos seems more than enough however either the place is not competent to deliver tacos on time or more likely there was...
