From the moment we arrived, we were treated to a 5 star experience. We were greeted with a specialty cocktail of the house, as well as brioche w/smoked butter to snack on while we made our selections. The proveleta had an amazing salad with roasted vegetables surrounding it with a marvelously light vinaigrette. We love proveleta in Argentina but this was next level with the salad balancing and enhancing it. For mains we ordered the Ribeye and the lasagna with spinach and rabbit. The dry aged ribeye was perfection and the lasagna was subtle and nuanced. In future we will split an entree because there was so much food! For pre dinner cocktails we ordered a couple that were plays on an Old Fashioned and they did not disappoint. The smoked one was amazing. Their bartender/mixologist is a genius. We were fortunate enough to order a BenMarco Cab Franc to accompany dinner and it was a delight. Throughout the whole experience, the staff was an absolute delight. They definitely deserve their Michelin distinction. We have another week in Mendoza and we have already made plans to return! And a shout out to Marianna (sp?) who provided fabulous service along with the rest...
Read moreAlmost every place in Argentina has been wonderful. This restaurant started out well with nice appetizers and waitress. The main courses were salty overall but the the risotto tasted like the cap of the salt shaker fell off and dumped salt onto the food. The waitress took the risotto back and admitted that it was too salty. No big deal, it happens. When paying the check, we noticed that the risotto was on the bill. We asked the waitress why, and the manager came out. She said they would remove it after a few uncomfortable minutes. When I looked at my receipt, they still had the original price…they then decided that it included tip which was unfortunate for our waitress because the manager could not figure out how to fix it. Was half empty on a Friday night. Now we know why. We spent about 50 dollars per person for this abuse. Luckily it was the only restaurant in our 10 days in Argentina with this level of incompetence. We felt bad for the waitress, as the manager was unprofessional and probably made the waitress pay for her mistake. Avoid at all costs. Don’t trust the Michelin...
Read moreWe had high expectations with all the hype, but the experience was underwhelming. The restaurant is beautiful, with a great vibe. The cocktails and bartender are top-notch, as is their wine list. For the main course, we tried their version of paella and the ribeye steak. The paella was overcooked; the baby squid was so dry it was almost impossible to eat. However, the type of pasta they used instead of rice benefited from the extra cooking, becoming tasty and crispy, though the seafood on top did not fare as well. The steak was cooked perfectly but lacked seasoning and was barely warm. It arrived warm, but within minutes, it had gone cold. By 11 p.m., the restroom looked like it hadn’t been refreshed since the restaurant opened—not what you’d expect from an establishment of...
