From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant. Dining outside added a delightful touch to the experience, and the attentive staff were more than happy to accommodate our requests.
The star of the evening was undoubtedly the tomahawk steak, which was cooked to perfection and seasoned with just the right amount of spices. The ribeye and tenderloin were equally impressive, with tender and juicy meat that melted in our mouths. The cheese sauce was a wonderful addition, providing a rich and creamy complement to the savory flavors of the steak.
The wine selection at La Lucia was superb, and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in recommending the perfect pairings for our meal. The full-bodied Malbecs paired perfectly with our steaks, every glass was a delight to savor.
The molten chocolate dessert was simply decadent. Served warm, the chocolate center oozed out onto our spoons as soon as we dug in. The dessert was not overly sweet, allowing the rich and complex flavors of the chocolate to shine through. The texture was perfect, with a crispy outer shell giving way to a luscious, velvety chocolate center.
The chocolate brownie was another great dessert. Decadent, rich, semi sweet - simply wonderful.
Both desserts were beautifully presented, with a delicate touch that added to the overall elegance of the meal. They were the perfect way to cap off an unforgettable dining experience at La Lucia.
Overall, we could not have been more pleased with our dinner at La Lucia. The food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding, and we would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Mendoza. This is definitely a restaurant that deserves to be on the top of every...
Read moreLet me begin by saying the service was adequate. Our server helped us through the wine list with an eye towards our entree selections and led us to one of the best bottles of wine we had in Mendoza. That’s where the fun ended. She had the lamb ravioli with pomodoro, the stuffing was ok, as advertised, but the ravioli wasn’t cooked. I don’t mean al dente, I mean opaque center of the pasta sheets, break a tooth raw. I was excited to see Duck Confit on the menu after 21 days of touring Argentina and eating primarily beef the entire time. I think we can all agree that rendering the skin on a duck is pretty important. This duck was like trying to eat a steel belted radial tire. The fat cap on the skin was absolutely uncooked. I piled it on the side of my plate while I tried to eat the lean bits, but alas this was the worst duck I’ve run into. Via my interpreter I attempted to educate the server, even offering him a bite of the inedible unfortunate bird. He wisely declined. I refused any sort of discount as the server simultaneously informed me that there was no manager present so he couldn’t void the bill. This place was recommended to me by two different locals, so perhaps my experience was an anomaly. However, my money is on Magnolia where we dined the night previous and had an incredible experience. If someone asked me about La Lucia I would warn them to eat anywhere in Mendoza as it would probably be better. Shame too because the place is very well decorated and the table setting was attractive. 2/10 because the wine was great and the pommes frites at...
Read morePros: When in Argentina you eat meat, and like most other places, the meat is delicious. My wife had ordered the entraña and I the ojo de bifé, and both were great. Along with potato a gratinada which was also good. And for starter we had the spinach & cheese empanadas. Those were delicious. Can't go wrong with empanadas in Argentina.
Cons: I would have given them 5 stars all around except for the fact that the service was not that great when we were there, we had to ask for water 3 times from 2 different servers and the place was not even busy. This also happened to the table next to us that had 6 people seated. Also our primary waiter seemed very overwhelmed with the tables he was attending too. We were patient as we had no rush, but I can see that this can snowball into tables not getting what they need in a timely manner. They also don't sell many if any wines per cup, which is wierd because so many other places we've been to, do in fact sell by the cup. This is not a cost issue but a waste issue in case someone doesn't want more than a glass, but has to get a...
