Breogan — Restaurant in Municipio de San Carlos de Bariloche

If you’ve ever had a taste of traditional Spanish (or Galician) food. Stay. Away. I ordered the Tortilla Española and paella and both were brown, without flavor and honestly I’m shocked any chef would put that out on the floor. I’ve never pushed away a plate after a bite but I did that twice tonight. The paella was literally brown. Not a hint of paprika, yellow seasoning or saffron. It resembles something like PadThai honestly. The red flag should’ve been the very low price (3200 for 1/2 porción). I didn’t ask for a discount or say anything, but the waitress was solid and she removed the paella which was so sweet of her. I don’t know who they’re fooling with the strong reviews on Google but it isn’t Spanish people. Service was stellar, wine was cheap and good, decor was nice....

I've been to Breogan twice: for lunch and for dinner. For lunch, I ordered the rabas (fried calamari) and the paella mariscos (seafood paella). DEEE-LICIOUS. The other time I had dinner, I tried the bife chorizo con champiñons y patatas noisette (beef steak with mushrooms and noisette potatoes). It was good and I really liked the noisette potatoes (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside), though I think I enjoyed the seafood meal more... They serve a shellfish aperitif along with your bread, and deliver a vino dulce (dessert wine) along with your cuenta. Both were nice touches. The place picks up at around 9 dinner time, but the lunch crowd was more laid back. I enjoyed this place: it was a little piece of the Mediterranean...

The food took an hour to come out, my husband and I were the only costumers in the restaurant when they opened at 7pm. So I’m not sure why it took so long.

My husband ordered the fish which was not cooked well and over seasoned with some red power.

I ordered the grilled chicken breast with white rice. The chicken was flavorful and cooked well it was just cold which was disappointing after waiting so long for my meal.

The bathrooms were not very clean, one was backed up and the other had the trash can overflowing with...
