Chalet Suisse — Restaurant in Municipio de San Carlos de Bariloche

The chalet has a lovely ambiance so we were wondering why we were the only 6 guests amid high season. We were about to find out. We chose 4 portions of basic cheese fondue and were presented with one caquelon filled up to a third. The taste itself was good. Until the waiter suggested to heat it up for us. Once back the taste and consistency had changed. He had added milk and starch to the fondue. So we pointed that out to which he once again took it back to the kitchen. At this point completely inedible we finished and asked for the bill suggesting paying for two portions. Not only were we called unethical and our opinions wouldn’t matter but the cherry on the cake was the cook who accused us of having had the plan of not paying from the start. Absolutely...

Very cute place that’s family owned. The owner was nice attentive and nice. The ambience was an interesting (but good) mix of Swiss relics, international relics, and family photos. You can tell that the restaurant is part of the house but that just adds to the charm of the place on my opinion. We got the cheese tart and the basic cheese fondue. Estamos probando nuevos lugares para merendar y la verdad todos muy lindos con buena calidad en la comida y la atencion. Lamentablemente no hemos tenido suerte con este lugar, quizás hay gente que les gustó o tuvo más suerte que nosotros. A penas entras hay un olor super invasivo (olor a viejo pero nauseabundo). Pero quisimos dar la oportunidad. El señor amablemente luego de 15 min esperando ( ya que estaba atendiendo a una sola mesa), nos vino a tomar el pedido, pero nunca nos había traído la carta.( una hoja con un folio de carpeta). Al ver el lugar como venía, decidimos pedir un café con leche ( la leche lo trajeron en jarrita y cortada), una medialuna de jamón y queso( la medialuna quemada porque estaba bien que esté recalentada, pero con el detalle del fiambre totalmente frio). Una porción de torta de coco ( la verdad me sentí mal, porque vino muy oscura, se notaba que no era fresca. La habian sacado de la heladera y le habían dado un toque de microondas) la tuve que dejar, por color raro, gusto raro, y partes frias y otras calientes. Pedí también una gaseosa( sin problemas ya que era envasada). El ambiente muy, pero muy silencioso y con una música sutil. Generaba un poco de incomodidad ya que eramos 2 mesas, y el ambiente era raro, demasiado detenido en el tiempo. Además de la comida que nos gustó para nada. El precio no lo vale.
