We were staying at the Amerian, but on our second day we said no to their food options and prices and walked into downtown Iguazu, probably about 3.K roundtrip. Many places don’t open until late evening, but after a quick ‘a block too far’ trip through “downtown”, we found the Restrobar Bambu where someone spoke English AND they take credit cards. As a bonus, a pub dog wandered by for a visit.
Here we find new 1 litro bottles of beer – Iguana. Food includes beef tenderloin and a sausage platter of Chorizo, Morilla (Blood Sausage 😊), Bodilla (Pork Butt Ends) Manioc (edible root dumpling?), and Provoletta. My companion also had a Liquado Maracuya (passion fruit). Honestly, half the time, we had no idea what we were eating. But, it was all brilliant and wonderful and wee priced. Great Value, great food, a pub dog, and only one street urchin who got his five minutes and was told to shoo.
Ended up being the perfect find for us. Low key, open patio, big beer, filling food. Did I mention the pub dog. Sadly I did not bring my camera...
Read moreNOT worth your money. HORRENDOUS service. I was happy to have found this restaurant and asked the clearly unmotivated waitress if I could order to go. She said "si" and I placed my order. When I got the food, I noticed there was no cutlery. I politely inquired for a fork. The waitress scoffed turned away and muttered "No." Her colleagues were with her and were just as unpleasant and uninterested. (ALL of this was in spanish, which I speak) A couple of questions to this establishment: I do not understand why a question for a fork for my meal would be something to belittle and make fun of? Why is that funny to you? If my food is to-go then how am I supposed to eat it if there is no cutlery included? Where did you find these unmotivated people with no work ethic and why do they work in the service industry when they CLEARLY don't want to be there ? As a manager, I am appalled at the treatment on a professional level but on a human...
Read moreVery bad restaurant. First they brought the wrong food. Instead of 4 sandwiches we got 2 and 2 without bread or sides. Then, 30min later we got our final 2 “sandwiches” which were literally a burger with nothing more than fluid cheddar cheese and a tomato. Maybe this works for others, but we stopped after 2.5 bites. The other 2 sandwiches were of similar bad quality.
We decided to leave, but they added more to the bill than we ordered. We complained about the quality of the food, but they laughed, shrugged and moved on with their work. Eventually the manager told us they deducted 10% of the total bill, which if you didn’t eat still is a lot of money.
Our advice: steer away from this place, especially if you value a...
