My favourite coffee speciality café! The coffee is consistently well-made, and the food is delicately divine. Not only is there a delish range of healthy sweets and snacks, but the meals are exquisite, and if you're lucky enough to drop by when they have their Portuguese tarts, try one! I know, I know, most cafés have them. But I've yet to have one elsewhere that has the touch of lemon like A Mother's Milk does (at least at Unley). And if coffee isn't your taste, they have fantastic smoothies and juices too. And wine!

This speciality café has something for everyone - the food and beverages are a quality served to an ancient dietie's leisurely brunch that we would be envious of in the past if not for the ability to enjoy it ourselves today, and the staff are lovely. Truly wonderful people, I always look forward to coming in and enjoying the brief chats as I await my coffee. There's always been good vibes, and I adore the café's indoor and outdoor seating areas. Lovely wall art to match a great atmosphere that's welcoming to all. Mother's Milk is also child and family friendly, they don't mind children at all!

This café deserves all the love it has. But more importantly, if you're reading this and wondering if it's the place to go to for breakfast or lunch, doubt no more - go and treat yourself!

Mother's Milk serves you like a good mother's love, with warmth and comfort, open arms and the promise you can return again to indulge in the service of lovely people, lovely food, and a...

Me and members of my family come here very regularly, sometimes almost every day, for coffee. Went on Mother’s Day and they had a set brunch menu, which was the same as their normal menu but with slight tweaks. I always get the avocado toast and ordered this which, because of the special menu that day, came with feta (it usually doesn’t). I explained I was vegan and that every time I order this it doesn’t come with feta and I was rudely told by an older woman staff member ‘well thats why I gave you the special menu today’ and she walked away. No apologies or understanding. In addition to this, the forks we were given had dried food in between the spokes and were not cleaned properly - we asked twice for them to replace our cutlery and it was the same for all of them. Obviously they don’t polish (soak in hot water) their cutlery, standard procedure for any cafe/restaurant.

The younger staff are really lovely, but this older woman waitress is awfully rude. We don’t come here at all anymore, instead we go to...

We came by for the first time after reading all the rave reviews—clearly, we missed something everyone else experienced.

The service on Sunday was, let’s say, understated. The staff member barely spoke and gave the impression that she’d much rather be anywhere else. We totally get that Sundays are slow, but a little interaction and communication never hurts.

Food: The mango salad and chicken bowl were
acceptable. Not bad, not amazing. Just kind of there. They filled the plate, and that’s about the extent of the excitement.

Drinks: Matcha lovers, beware. The matcha we ordered was a bit of a mystery—dull in color, bland in taste, and suspiciously lacking that signature matcha richness. If it wasn’t expired, it certainly wasn’t the good stuff. A minor detail, but one that matters.

This isn’t meant to be harsh—just honest. For the price, we had hoped for a bit more care and attention. Fingers crossed that this was just an off day, and that future visits might match the café’s...

We would highly recommend if you are looking for an amazing brunch, a great coffee, and funky place to hang out. We have been to all the restaurants in the immediate area and A Mothers Milk is by far our favourite. Maybe in all of Adelaide. The service is top notch, always friendly and attentive and no matter how busy they are (which is often) the food and drinks come out in good time, and taste amazing. A big shout out for the coffee here. Great flavour, and always hot. Plenty of choice of seating. If you are inside it is cozy, with some very cool art to look at, and the covered patio outside is off the side street so it isn’t too loud with traffic. Great scene to be at. The food is always of high quality, fresh ingredients, imaginative dishes and great value. Highly recommended the baked eggs, the crab chilli omlette, and the BLT. But honestly we think you would enjoy anything you order here. We would give it more than five stars if we could. Enjoy!!

We have been coming to A Mothers Milk on Unley Road for many years, as they provide great coffee along with good breakfast & lunch choices. So, we were intrigued by the plan for it to also open as an evening venue. Following a few weeks of renovations, including the addition of banquette seating and a new bar, our first two visits have both been great. The wood fired pizza and pasta, together with a small but quality wine list (plus beer and cocktails) have all been delicious. And Tania is a fabulous host. We very much appreciate the addition of such a warm and inviting small restaurant/bar in our local area and will certainly be returning.
