We arrived early everything seemed ok. We were taken to our table and realised we were going to have difficulty sitting in such a small place. We noticed after second glass of wine the measures seemed extremely small. When we questioned it We were not given a satisfactory answer. Our entre arrived on time. However the tomato salsa that was advertised on the menu was missing. When we questioned staff about this No solution was offered. Having waited over half an hour for our main course it finally arrived with the wrong ingredients. When we questioned this apologies were made and we were told it would be another half and hour for the replacement dish. and we were offered tapas to eat during the delay which we thought were gratis. Entertainment was not bad. At the and of the evening we ordered a liqueur and the gain noticed The serve was small. Again we questioned it. and we got no satisfactory answer Finally received bill only to find they had charged us for the tapas. and in addition had charged us extra for two ingredients. At this point We’d had enough. And scrutinised the bill and complained about all of the mistakes. So We went expecting great night and left bitterly...

Our stay in Unley meant we sampled extensively from the terrific restaurants up and down Unley Road, and Villa 77 was no exception. This cosy slice of Spain offers a terrific taste of local fare at a reasonable price. For our group of 6 we opted for the $58/head tasting option, which delivered to us a selection of 5 tapas plates of the chef's choosing, two paellas of our choosing and churros with dipping chocolate to share for dessert. Our tapas items were delicious - big shout out to the spicy wings and meatballs - and the paellas (chicken and mushroom, and duck) were fabulous, with beautifully creamy rice and just the right amount of crisp on the bottom of the pan. The duck was particularly delicious. Despite our full bellies, the churros were quickly devoured as a great finish to the meal. They have an excellent wine (Spanish tempranillo for the win) and cocktail menu. Service was very friendly and helpful, even though it was a busy evening and they were clearly rushed off their feet. Once a month they have a flamenco dancer - it wasn't our night but I'm sure it would add to an already excellent...

I highly recommend this place! My partner went out on a date night ... about a month ago...well overdue. From the moment we walked in it felt like we had stepped into a little piece of Spain. The attention to detail is amazing, in particular a waitress whom MADE OUR NIGHT AMAZING I wrote her name in the book at the entrance... I think it was Sonia or Maria? (I’m sorry if I got it wrong here) but I was particularly impressed with her friendliness attentiveness, and being able to repeat our menu off the top of her head and when we said there was seafood allergies and we ordered the squid, she even was so good at confirming with us. With the chicken Paella, we don’t eat pork so asked for no pork and she came back and kindly asked if we would like extra chicken instead. It’s these little extra care and o much more she did that made our food dining experience so enjoyable. Thank you. Only thing perhaps I didn’t like was my martini. Just didn’t taste right but then again it’s not a cocktail bar! So happy with the margaritas!! Will...

Googled search and found this place. The facade is unassuming and looks like a beautifully decorated house. Once inside, it is a cosy and well decorated interior with more than ten tables. The service staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They are also very attentive and paid attention to details. For instance, we made an enquiry about the churros for dessert as a take out. Towards the end of our meals, the waiter remembered and reminded us. And we gladly ordered of course. We had fried chicken bits and stir fried mushrooms as tapas to share while waiting for the paella, the main course. All are delicious and as expected The seafood mainly the prawns could have been a bit fresher. They are huge prawns nonetheless and they tasted good.

Ordered veg paella, roast mushrooms and Spanish bread. The bread came sopping wet cuz it was put in a container with plastic lid. The roast mushrooms were grilled, unseasoned and soggy. The paella - the biggest disappointment. For $42 (for 2 people) I expected it to be pretty top quality, beautifulyl textured and fragrant - it was anything but. There was no stock or seasoning, it tasted old and like it had been taken from a fridge and microwaved. Really stodgy and overcooked rice. It was like microwaved rice mixed with grilled vegetables that had been cooked the day before. I feel that in order to charge so much for your meals, the food better be top notch. People seldom know how to make decent vego food these days. Such a bummer.
