Ordered a party size half and half; Manzo and Devil's Choice with a cheesy mushroom garlic bread and cheesy chilli fries. First the bad news. When the pizza first arrived I was livid. This pizza clearly wasn't the 18" gastronomic challenge I was expecting, it was 12" or I'm a monkey. Well as it turns out I'm not a monkey and it was 12" also gluten free, however I'm also a space cadet and made a mistake when ordering so it was completely my fault. None of this was the fault of my amigos at Amigos. Now the good. The pizza was amazing. Perfect balance of heat and flavour on the Devil's Choice and the Manzo was a testosterone fuelled flavour explosion that increased my net manliness by 10,000%. The cheesy garlic and mushroom bread was the best thing since fungus based dining experiences began. The fries, the fries! Don't get me started, delicious, well cooked, amazing. This was truly a dining experience for the ages. Lastly the amazing. I requested the good people at Amigos bless me with a hand drawn rendering of a dinosaur riding a hoverboard. 'Did they deliver?' (pun intended, they obviously deliver because I'm too lazy to leave a building on a friday night and the food must have arrived somehow) I hear you ask. Well yes they did. The simplistic style of the drawing added to the power of the message. In this universe dinosaurs truly are the masters of their own...
Read moreI'm not usually one to write negative reviews... but after several negative experiences I had to say something. My partner and I have ordered takeaway pizza from here quite a few times - when they actually get our order correct and deliver on time it's great! However, most of the time this doesn't seem to be the case. Several times they have got our order wrong - we've paid extra for additional toppings that they have NOT included on the pizza (I reckon we've spent about $12-15 on extra toppings across our last few orders that they have forgot to put on our pizzas... not great service or value!)
Delivery time has also been absolutely terrible. We literally live 5 minutes from the Magill store, and sometimes have waited 1.5 hours for our pizza. We've had to call up asking where our pizza is... and they say 'it's with the driver', but when we receive it 15 minutes after calling, it's evident that they forgot our order and only just made it (it's very hot and fresh on arrival... not what you would expect after 15-20 minutes in a delivery car).
We like to give places a few chances... but after screwing up so many times and wasting our money on additional toppings we've never received, we've decided we'll no longer be ordering from this establishment anymore. Hope they can take this feedback and improve their service, because when they get it right, the...
Read moreAfter a long day at work, and being hungry, at 8.45pm last Thursday evening, I went to Amigos and chose to have fish and chips as a take away supper. Sadly, the meal was way below the standard of any take away meal, and was especially disappointing, having cost $21.
The fish was cooked in a thick batter, which was so hard and soaked in fat, it was really unpleasant, and when looking inside the batter, there was virtually no fish. It was the thinest fillet ever, and way over cooked.
The chips were obviously bought in and cooked from frozen and had been double salted, and were so unpleasant to be inedible.
It was really disappointing and I threw the meal in the bin. I called Amigos to give then the chance to explain and hopefully offer an apology. The woman I spoke with initially implied she was doubtful of my experience, and no apology was forthcoming, merely a statement 'that's how we buy in our fish from the supplier' and she went on to say she had never had a complaint before!
Obviously she has never heard of customer care, dismissing me eventually with the offer of a half refund of the price of the meal. That completley missed the point. A genuine apology would have been welcome, and ensured my family continued to frequent Amigos, from whom we have bought many pizzas ( not fish....). We will not be...
