Welcoming and speedy service. Food has always been decent, savoury or sweet. Disappointing portion sizes and steep prices. I've been going here long before it was "Bakery on Linden", and have been mostly disappointed with the change. The prices feel steep for the quality and portion size given. I paid $11.60 for an Egg and Bacon Pie and a small coffee (no alternative milk). I can't understand what would make either the pie or coffee near $6 each. And even then, the coffee left a strange aftertaste, unsure if that was the coffee or the powder used to make it a mocha. I did notice the barista pouring shots to prepare the machine, which was good to see, and may have meant I came in a little too early. Egg and Bacon Pie was pretty good! Very salty and hearty. Inflation has noticeably impacted bakery good prices but this location so much so. Diamond Burger, a burger joint on the same road, has also noticeably steep prices, but they make up for it in quality and portion size, whereas this place does not compensate their prices or portion sizes in any way. I would love to be able to come here for breakfast or a snack more often, but with food quality so middle-of-the-range and prices so high, the temptation is not there. All the best to future customers and I commemorate all hospitality staff. EDIT: I appreciate their reply to my review, I will give them another shot sometime soon, looking forward to it!

Been here 3 times this year. The cream filled sweet pastries are pretty good and very fresh but don't pick the coffee cream filled vanilla slice, it was so average. Inside is not a good place to sit down for a cup of coffee and cake and some conversation because the place is squashy and gets very noisy, but they do have an alfresco area.

dropped by the cafe a while ago to see that the store was selling r u ok day cupcakes. these were simply devine, though i couldn’t help but feel the only people who needed them were the staff after being verbally bludgeoned by the owner

Food was great, nothing was wrong with the food. However, someones attitude made the experience not worth coming back again. The owner or manager i dont know his name was extremely rude to his employees in front of customers and could be heard throughout the meal. That was the first part of the ordeal, we came in as three people and ordered a pie, sandwich and wrap with drinks included. After the meal was complete we decided to have something a little extra, we were then greeted by the rude owner or manager who served us and instead of asking if we were having it as takeaway or dine in he proceeded to put it into takeaway bags. When he was asked for a plate and fork he made the mention of not being told if we were dining in or having it at as takeaway. After this he made the comment of asking for one thing after another. To me i felt that as a customer his service was inadequate, he was too busy telling his employees off to keep an eye on his customers and their needs even if it was something as basic as asking for dine in or takeaway. Keep in mind we had been sitting and eating our meal for 30 minutes and he was present yet he still managed to put some blame on the...

I stop in around 10 to 11ish, at the beginning of every month prior to doing a gardening job at Hahndorf. My fuel is the same each time. 1 x chicken pie, 1 x steak & pepper pie and a small coke no sugar (yes, I hear u say, why bother with the no sugar, if you're consuming all those pie calories). Why? Because I burn them off after 3 hrs of hard slog.

Anyway, and more importantly, the bakery has great products. The staff are friendly and they make you feel like you will want to go back, again and again and again, and that's what I do!

Keep doing what you're doing as it works. Three of...
