The food is increasingly hit and miss. Lately the chips have been the worst downfall, consistently overcooked, and so DRY 😕 The service has gone downhill too, some of the new staff are very blunt and rude. Asked for a bag for the multiple drinks with our takeaway order and had the girl slam the plastic bag down on the counter while saying 'there you go, put them in the bag', she also slammed my change down on the counter instead of passing it to me. I expect better service, especially when the order...

Recommended - good quality, bright and clean and friendly service. Very prompt order taking and fulfilment. The menu is varied with good options for kids. Everything tasted freshly made and the fish seemed of good quality. Crispy fresh batter and not at all greasy. Good sized portions but not too big. Quality over quantity is what you want and I’d say this Barnacle Bill delivers that.

They have plenty of inside seating as well if you wish to dine in. One of the better fish and chip shops...

Don’t come here 1 HOUR before they close because they won’t let you sit at the booths, they’ll try to squeeze 5 people onto a 4 seated table so they have less to clean at the end of the night. Ordered no prawns and extra calamari and no salad comes out with prawns and salad, and got treated like I was an issue when I asked for it to be fixed.
