Bonsai Restaurant — Restaurant in Adelaide

This is our local restaurant and we have eaten here for many years on a regular basis. The food is excellent but the service is appallingly bad. We have had so many errors in our take away orders the last few months, and each time the staff do absolutely nothing to fix the mistakes. Tonight I ordered chicken and rice noodles and they gave me a laksa - which I am allergic to because it contains gluten based noodles (rice noodles however do not contain gluten). I understand that people make mistakes but the staff made absolutely no attempt to fix the situation or compensate for their mistake. I also cannot understand how they could confuse rice noodles with laksa. They don’t exactly sound similar. It is such a shame because our family has eaten here at least once a fortnight for the last several years. They know that we are regular customers and made no attempt to rectify their mistake. Ordered a spicy beef soup. Received a combination soup with fatty beef and pressed pork. Asked if I had been given wrong order as soup contained a combination of meats when I had not ordered a combination but simply a beef soup. No mention on menu of other meats listed. Was told beef soup has a mixture of meats and I should have googled what the normal ingredients of a traditional soup contained before ordering?? Showed them the menu where nothing is listed about other meats except for beef being an ingredient. The 2 woman at register refused to talk to me pulling faces at me and crossing their arms, disrespectful and childish customer service. One of the male waiters was helpful and stated he would have exchanged the soup however the owner was refusing. Update to say - still absolutely delicious! And for those former hospo workers you can be in an out in 35 minutes 💜 Salt and Pepper Squid, Bonsai Spicy Chicken Fried Rice and Mongolian Beef were all elite.

Went here for dinner for the first time. Lovely establishment, really prompt and friendly service.
