I recently visited Caffe Buongiorno for brunch and ordered the Buongiorno breakfast and Eggs Benedict, accompanied by two flat whites. Despite the bustling atmosphere, we managed to find a spot outside to escape the noise inside the restaurant.
The service was impressively quick, with our coffee and food arriving in no time. Initially, the presentation of my meal didn’t stand out, as it lacked any garnishes or fancy touches. However, the taste more than made up for it—it was a great example of serving excellent food without unnecessary frills.
Most of the staff were friendly and efficient, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. However, my interaction with the counter staff left something to be desired. I encountered a sticky substance, possibly honey, on the back of the menu given to us, which got all over my hands. When I went to order our food, I mentioned this to the staff member at the counter, she seemed indifferent and simply threw the menus onto a pile without addressing the issue. Additionally, the noise made it difficult to hear her when I was ordering the food, and when I asked her to repeat herself, she gave me a dismissive look with sort of rolled eyes and looked at me as I was an idiot.
I understand that working in a busy restaurant can be stressful, but a bit of respect and a pleasant attitude would go a long way. Due to this one unfortunate interaction, I’m giving Caffe Buongiorno 1 star instead of five. No one deserves a rude attitude for no reason and due to this, my whole experience at the restaurant was unpleasant. Otherwise, the food and service from other staff were...
Read moreHad a very bad experience. They brought out the wrong food and when I pointed this out it felt like they ganged up on me to inform me that I had given me what I asked for and they made me look like a fool. There were numerous people around complaining and sending meals back and getting what they wanted whereas they argued with me. Obviously, the food standards and customer service has really declined recently.
I did not eat what they gave me; I took it home and gave it to the dog. The meal was tiny too for almost $30, not like the portions you used to get there. Furthermore, it didn't look appertising at all, hence why I gave it to the dog.
I have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years; on average I eat here at least once a month. I used to always come with my best friend who sadly died prematurely a couple of years ago. I have many fond memories of us going to the cinema and then coming here afterwards for good food and conversation.
I made it clear to my husband that I will never eat here ever again. Even though I was really hungry I ended up going for a takeaway burger as I was not eating what I didn't order.

Read moreNice food, good selection BUT the staff particularly some of the younger ones need to be a lot more customer friendly. My friend, when ordering made a mistake on our table number and the young lady at the counter rolled her her at him, which I found particularly disrespectful and while his reaction was very poor she obviously, to me, doesn’t have a lot of tolerance for older people. A bit more staff training in some cases, particularly when very busy. Basically “ if you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen “ meaning they are short and impolite in some instances when they are under the pump. Three or four of us regularly go there for a meal prior to the movies and have witnessed confusion at times and experienced mistakes with our own food. Even my wife commented once when we were there that the some of staff were not switched on. Unfortunately we won’t be returning and will be eating at an alternative venue in the future. Unfortunate as I...
