Today when I woke up I didn’t know what a momentous occasion this day would be.
It had been raining on the way to this most glorious restaurant. But as soon as I arrived the clouds parted as if to say today you will be blessed. Birds started singing it was like a choir of angels.
As I came in I was greeted by the rambunctious chatter of the lively folk inside. Their cheeriness rivalling that of a boozed up festival or that of parents upon the arrival of their precious newborn. I was astounded. What was this place that all these people were filled with joy and gladness overflowed from their hearts?
I would soon find out as I moved on closer beckoned by the welcoming smile on the cashier awaiting patiently for me to order. What beauty did she possess I found myself in awe such that I was made mute but full of grace she helped me find my footing. Extolling the various delicacies on offer and as beautiful as she was it seemed I would faint because the food was like that of the gods. And me a mere mortal had somehow found a portal, a magical gateway, to access that which is set apart for those whose machinations have power over life and death. What luck is this? May I forever be remembered as Jakub the Fortuitous because the LORD’s banquet has been offered unto me.
I then experienced what I had seen on those other once weary, exuberant faces. It felt to me that my world had been made whole that all the troubles of my admittedly very troubled life have been taken away, dealt with. And that now if only for a brief moment all was made right. They say in Carl’s Junior that they’re making people happy through food but I would have to quibble Carl’s Junior didn’t only make me happy.

Read moreAfter hearing a few good comments and reading the reviews we thought we'd finally try Carl's. Overall I think it was a miss for us. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad food, but there is really nothing that compels me to want to come back over the competition. The unlimited drinks are a nice touch and something unique over the others. I'd read some negative comments on the chips. I appreciated that they were unique and tasty. I can see how they might not have as much general appeal though as say McDonald's fries. The onion rings were better than Hungry Jacks, though ours were definitely too salty. Now on to the star of the show, the burgers. They were thoughtfully wrapped to be easy to handle, but sadly I had the opposite problem and found the packaging annoying to get into, my burger falling apart into a mess in the process. Look to the competition here. On a board, in a box etc wins every time. It stops that classic soggy bun that I got with my burger when you wrap hot food. Flavour-wise, I can best describe mine as "meh". Again, there is really stiff competition around here, not just from traditional fast food, but from some of the more gourmet burger options, like Nordburger or Grill'd. The burger I had is exactly the same price as Nordburger. As a meal, Carl's is a little cheaper with the chips and drink, but usually I wouldn't get the chips anyway. For the same money Nordburger is a clear winner. I would highly suggest studying them. They win on value, presentation and flavour. Even with expensive options like say Grill'd, they still offer something that makes me want to come back. Sadly my experience at Carl's...
Read moreMuch better burgers and healthier than hungrys and maccas.. their fires are great too.. maybe $2 dearer than the the competition but you dont feel bloated and sick when full just nice and full like you should when you eat. Now in saying all this this one is no comparison to the one newly built at westlakes. Maybe its because westlakes is new and they are striving to impress. But the difference is huge. Kilburn just seems to be slapped together with no love like its just another day at the workshop. Where you can noy fault the care and time taken at westlakes to deliver you the best service each and every time. I hope they hold up that standard and dont revert to basic customer service one running for a while. Also the costomer service is a noticable difference at westlakes yes you still have to wait a while for your meal its so worth it where as kilburn. A snobby attitude is what gets you from A to Z. And i day Z not A to B because its such a long wait... If you ever need a all round quality assuranxe guy to pick up you business all round quality im your man. Lmao 😂✌👌😀 In saying all this its so much better than the nasty competition like hungry jacks and McDonald's and you wont have a early heart attack while feeling sick...
