Charcoal Pit Findon — Restaurant in Adelaide

Called the Charcoal Pit Findon to let them know about the issues regarding my order.

Order details:

1. Requested No Salt on the chips. (See photo of receipt)

2. Steak Burger requested No Pineapple, No Bacon, No Sauce. (See photo of receipt)

3. Received the Chips with Salt/Onion Salt/Chicken Salt/ a seasoned salt of some sort..

4. Steak Burger I received was only steak, onion, egg and cheese…. And Missing the lettuce, missing the tomato, missing the beetroot!

I Didn’t even realise that the lettuce, tomato was missing besides the beetroot while on phone talking with the manager until I got off of the phone and sat down and thought wth.

I am posting a review to show the management a photo of the Steak Burger that I received via Uber Eats app delivery. I did try calling the store again as I was going to ask if they had a business email address so I could send photos to management, but they were busy/unavailable to answer my call.

This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered via Uber Eats delivery from Charcoal Pit and requested NO SALT and they put salt. I didn’t expect this to happen again.

Someone seriously needs to learn how to do their job.. Attention to detail and knowledge of the menu items.

Management said to me on the phone to request a refund via Uber Eats and I told her they won’t refund, because in the past they didn’t refund for this chip issue and sure enough they didn’t this time of writing the review (see screenshot)

update 11:37PM 22/03/25 I responded back to Uber Eats via their message service in app, explaining everything again about this order issue and requested further review, and they have now refunded me for the AUD $28.49 out of the AUD...

Charcoal Pit at Findon has become our go-to spot for a relaxed, satisfying meal — and their open yiros plate is hands-down one of the best in Adelaide. The meat (whether you go for chicken, lamb, or a mix) is always perfectly seasoned and cooked over charcoal for that unbeatable smoky flavour. It’s served generously over a bed of golden chips or warm pita, with crisp salad and their signature garlic or tzatziki sauce on the side — fresh, vibrant, and seriously addictive.

What makes this place even better is how much our kids love it here (even though it's a 40min drive from our house). Whether it's the crunchy chips, the juicy chicken, or just the friendly, buzzing vibe, they’re always excited to come along. The staff are always welcoming, patient with families, and the dine-in area is clean and spacious — great for a casual family meal without any fuss.

Prices are fair, portions are very generous, and the quality never misses. Whether we’re grabbing a quick dinner or sitting down for a weekend meal, Charcoal Pit Findon always delivers. Highly recommend the open yiros plate — and if you’ve got kids, you’ll appreciate how easy and enjoyable it is to eat...

Honestly, this is hands down one of the best shops in Adelaide. Whether you’re after hot chickens, salads, Yiros, or chips—everything here is top quality. You can really taste the effort and care that goes into their food. Their chips are genuinely to die for—crispy, golden, perfectly seasoned, just how chips should be!

What makes this place even better is the people behind it. The owners are so warm and welcoming. They treat their staff with such respect and speak to every customer with kindness—it’s something you don’t see often these days, and it really leaves a lasting impression.

Even their gravy is vegetarian, which is such a thoughtful touch, especially considering how limited vegetarian options can be at places like this. It shows they care about all their customers.
