As soon as we entered “La Vita Ristorante Cafe”, we sensed deliciousness and a feeling of being at home. A kind waiter brought us to our seats, in a very comfortable and spacious table for a group of 5. We had a wide variety of dishes and menus, suitable for those who like “Picking and choosing.” The waiters were always nearby, ready to collect our orders. Our starter was “Cheesy garlic bread.” The bread had soft insides, complete with butter and some garlic flavour. But what makes it unique, as you can guess from the title is that it has a layer of stretchy mozzarella cheese. We had some spaghetti, four large bowls, full to the brim with generous amounts of spaghetti along with one plate of pizza. For dessert, I had a “creme brûlée”, which had lots of delicious cream as the filling. We had an amazing view looking at one of the fantastic chefs make pizza. When we were finished, my whole family decided that this deserved an amazing google review, 5/5; ,maybe even more!

Walked in with my family. Greeted upon arrival. Classy, clean and nice set up. As a qualified Chef I know what to expect with hospitality and this fitted the expectation quite nicely. Warm welcome by the owner and smile from the waiter who showed us to our table. It was 6.30pm but busy already which was a very good sign. Drink service to start of with was excellent, followed by starters then mains. Superb customer service , nice drinks but what I will mention is - Excellent Chefs, food was tasty and my medium steak was a melt in your mouth moment cooked to perfection, plates were warm not cold, clean cutlery, table immaculate, food presentation was good. The italian dishes looked spectacular. I want to try one of the pasta dishes next but felt like a steak today of the specials board. If you like good healthy food cooked from scratch.. this is the place.

3rd Visit Review! Large Menu to choose from Plus incorporating a specials board of main dishes and desserts. All meals ordered including fungi risotto, seafood risotto and a variety of pasta mains have all been cooked authentically Italian 5 out of 5. Complimentary bread is offered and the cocktails were flavorsome. A separate function room is available. Sporting standard decor with some table dressings and fairy lights on the ceiling gives a standard atmosphere with a touch of class, wooden look tables were clean, similar hard timber seating. Ground level building with ample parking. Wheelchair access possible although tables may have to be moved slightly due to limited pathways. No pretty external view, situated on a main road. Worth a dinner date to enjoy the food! .

The business owner is rude and doesn't have a clue about customer service! I had a late lunch with my husband at this cafe yesterday and had booked for 7.30pm to meet a family friend to discuss some business with the intent of inviting him to dinner. As he didn't want any dinner and I was still quite full from a late lunch there, I decided not to have dinner. The owner made a comment that we are not having dinner, making it subtle but obvious he was not happy. I explained that I was still full from the lunch we had at his cafe earlier on but he wasn't listening. He already had his preconceived idea. I went to pay our bill with my credit card and he grumbled that it was below $10 and it wasn't our fault that I ordered 2 mugs of coffee but got 2 small ones. I was happy to pay by cash and offered to get the cash for him but he processed it anyway. The following day, I went to the cafe to meet with a business contact for a quick coffee meeting just after 5.10pm. When I walked in, the same business owner looked at me frustrated and I thought it must be my imagination. His staff recognised me and welcomed me with a bright smile! After I ordered our drinks at the counter, I was returning to the table when the same owner walked up to me and asked me how long I will be staying as it will be a full house tonight. He has just lost my business forever!!! Imagine the number of times we have dined at his Cafe over the years when we lived in the area. He either needs to take a long holiday or get customer service training!! His staff was apologising to me for his ignorant behaviour. So out of 10, how would I rate Cafe la Vita? 10 for the staff and 0...

Ahhh! La Vita... serving average food at above average prices.

We have been here quite a few times since moving into the area about 18 months ago, and usually it's been OK, with a few hiccups along the way (eg a piece of plastic found in a pasta meal!)

We went for dinner today, and the place was pretty busy. We waited ten minutes before our drinks order was taken and then another ten before our food order. Then 25 minutes later our food arrived, still no drinks. Reminded the staff member, and the drinks then arrived. My wife's $9 glass of rose was barely enough to dampen the bottom of the glass, and was clearly not a fair pour.

I had gnocchi bolognaise which wasnt hot, and honestly I could do much better at home. The potato dumplings were mostly soggy and definitely not prepared as you would expect in a place like this. There was an additional charge on our bill for changing spag bol to gnocchi bol, which we weren't told about when ordering! Nice way to treat regular patrons?

My wife had chicken parmi, salad and chips. Chicken was OK, although some gristle was found, but the salad was extremely soggy with dressing, and inedible, must have been put together much earlier in the day, or was yesterday's, who knows.

About $77 dollars later, after the account had been presented to me by a very rude and arrogant bloke behind the counter, we left and won't be back.

So, IMO it's over priced and and over rated, and therefore poor value.

La Vita just doesn't seem to be as good as it thinks it is. Suggest you go a bit further to Chicco Palms on Henley Beach Road, more affordable, nice staff and the food is clearly better prepared...
