Charminar Brighton — Restaurant in Adelaide

Once our favourite place to eat out. Went there last night - highly disappointed. Placed an order over the phone for dine in - I was advised that place is busy and will take a bit longer.

Arrived in 5 minutes to the Resturant - yes it was reasonably busy but were advised that food will take 30 minutes. 45 minutes later - we were advised that 10 minutes atleast. After one hour I asked at the counter and was advised that our order has not even been started.

I understand that things can take longer at times but what frustrated me the most was that we have two tables who arrived after us - ordered in front of us and their food came in approximately 30 minutes. It felt like we were ignored and with absolutely no remorse from the staff.

We have two absolutely hungry kids who behaved really well but started to cry as they could not wait due to being so hungry. We WERE the loyal customers for over 5 years but sadly won’t come back again, specially when you felt being ignored.

I recently tried the daal makhani from Charminar and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The dish lacked the rich and authentic flavors that I expected. The overall taste fell short of the traditional, robust daal makhani I've enjoyed elsewhere. It's safe to say that this rendition did not live up to my expectation.

And when I called the restaurant, the receptionist suggested I return with my pickup receipt for a replacement. When I explained that returning was inconvenient for me, they insisted there was nothing they could do, which I found to be quite unreasonable.

While I appreciate their initial offer to replace the food, the lack of flexibility in finding an alternative solution left me dissatisfied. Customer service plays a crucial role, and it felt disappointing that the restaurant couldn't accommodate a more convenient resolution.

I wouldn't recommend it to others seeking a flavorful daal...

We called at 6:20pm on a busy Friday (long weekend) to see if they could fit us in for dine in at 6:30pm. No problem. It was bustling with dine in and takeaway orders but still managed to accommodate our booking while providing really excellent service. Small details like filling your water glasses upon seating, taking away empty plates and glasses throughout your experience and cleaning up the floor inbetween customers goes a long way to contributing to a positive experience. The waitress staff are clearly all thoroughly and consistently trained as we saw the same high standard throughout. Amazingly on such a busy night food came out pretty quickly. I would rate the food as good, not excellent or the best we've ever had but certainly passable to ensure you leave feeling satisfied with your meal & experience. We will definitely...
