I ordered a large Supreme pizza today and below is a list of problems with the pizza. I write this review not to have a go at this restaurant but to point out some problems and offer suggestions for improvement.
One of the olives on one of the slices had half a pip in it. Lucky when I bit into it I didn't damage my teeth. Need to look into supply of olives. This could have been serious.
Toppings were not evenly spread. There were clumps of "ham" (I'll come back to this so called "ham" later) and capsicum and onion in middle of pizza. This leads to two things - First, when you pick up a slice the toppings fall off. Second, clumps of toppings mean more moisture so the dough in the middle of the pizza becomes soggy and each slice is floppy with toppings falling off. Maybe the pizza makers were in a hurry or they are still learning but they need to make sure the spread of toppings is even. Less toppings especially the pickled capsicum in the middle and more evenly spread towards edges of pizza.
Online menu lists supreme under the "gourmet" category and price of a large was $20. However, when I paid I was charged $22. No biggie, I just figured there was a surcharge for Sundays or the online menu was not updated yet. If not, then staff need to know better. As a customer I don't want to be seen haggling over pizza but I don't want to be overcharged either.
Now to the "ham" - This is my biggest peeve when it comes to pizza places in this while damned city. Hardly any place uses real ham anymore. They use this fake "shredded pizza topping" rubbish that they call "ham". It's not ham! It's more like a cross between spam and fritz (blended pork off-cuts). I know one or two pizza places in Adelaide that still use real ham and I will go out of my way to buy pizza from those places and avoid all places that use this fake ham. I wouldn't have minded so much if it weren't for the fact that the Supreme is listed under the "gourmet" pizza category and they were charging "gourmet" prices.
Continuing from above, this whole "gourmet" thing raises two questions - First, why is Supreme considered a "gourmet" pizza? Because there are pickled capsicum and prawns on it? By the way, the prawns were large and chunky and plentiful but lacked any flavour. It did not taste good and doesn't suit the pizza. Second, if you're gonna make Supreme a "gourmet" pizza and charge "gourmet" prices for it then you better put real ham it in! When it comes to a Supreme, I'd much prefer normal green capsicum, REAL ham and pineapple. Save the prawns and pickled capsicum for a "gourmet" version.
Suggestion: Why not use real ham and distinguish yourself from almost every single other pizza place...
Read moreDisappointed and Frustrated After a $170 Order
I don’t usually leave reviews—positive or negative—but after my experience with Juniper and Pines last night, I felt this one was worth writing.
I placed a large order over the phone for pick-up, totalling around $170. I called because I was ordering for a group that included some fussy kids, and I wanted to customise a couple of the pizzas. Specifically, I asked for a plain cheese pizza and a plain pepperoni pizza—nothing fancy, just as simple as it sounds.
The food took over an hour to be ready. The hostess was very polite and apologetic about the delay, and I appreciated that, so I wasn’t upset at that point.
However, once I got the food home—which was only a 10-minute drive—I was extremely disappointed. Several pizzas and my risotto were stone cold, and the food was average at best. On top of that, the pepperoni pizza had jalapeños on it, and the "cheese" pizza was actually a cheese bread with mixed herbs—neither of which matched what I had clearly asked for. The kids these were meant for barely touched them, leaving them hungry and me frustrated.
I called to express my concerns, and the hostess explained that their menu lists the pepperoni pizza with jalapeños and the cheese option as cheese bread with herbs. I understand how the confusion happened—but considering I had ordered over the phone specifically to avoid this kind of issue, and had spent $170, I expected a better outcome.
To her credit, she did offer to remake the pizzas, but at 8:30 p.m. on a Saturday night—after already waiting over an hour—that just wasn’t a realistic option. I asked if that was really all she could do and if that’s how she wanted to leave things. Her response was basically yes, which left me feeling like my business wasn’t valued at all.
Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste—literally and figuratively—and I won’t be ordering from Juniper and...
Read moreNever go to this place for any job trial.
I went to this place on a job trial as a cook, they told me I worked good and I will start working from next week and they also told me to start looking at the menu they are on the website.
Then I stopped searching for the jobs but I didn't received any response from them for next 7-8 days then I called him and he told me sorry I was busy ok we can discuss about the hours and weekly pay now then you will start from again next week. I thought he may be busy then I ignored the one week which I already waited and I was ready to wait one more week and again no response.
Then I ring him again, he told me sorry my chef went to India he is coming next week. I will call him and fix it and call you back again.
What is wrong with you, why you call someone on trial and fix the job????. I stopped searching for other jobs because you told me you will call me from next week two times. You have a business your life is secured but we as a worker we have to depend on our weekly pay. You wasted my more 3 weeks!!! for nothing ,you should feel some shame. I've never seen anything stupid thing like this before.
I don't want the same thing happen to the innocent hardworking people So I just want to help someone by leaving this review here. Just be careful when you go to this...
