High expectations often lead to disappointments and this is exactly what happened with Chahat. Thoroughly disappointed with the food, taste and quality. An overload of spice that dominates the taste and the food itself lacks punch. We ordered Punjabi Thali that had dal makhani and paneer navratan along with the other standard inclusions and never have I tasted dal makhani that's not creamy (watery) and a prominent taste of red chilli (i presume). We were recommended Kulcha thali and were impressed when served but it was a let down as the channa lacked taste and the kulcha were burnt and had a bitter taste to it. The service was good, courteous and friendly and the quantity served was also good. Adding pics.

Bestest place in the whole Adelaide. Specially the $10 dollar buffet in the morning is the yummmm. I have spend literally 60-80 dollars on other restaurants like beyond india, Dosa hut but couldn’t find good indian food especially how we punjabis like 😅. But at this place , I’ve spent $35 dollars for two buffet , 2 gobhi parantha ( beware of the size of parathas) , tea and not to forget the Rasmalai. Must must must go and also the lady at the counter is extremely nice and made us feel like home. Highly recommended for crazy indian food liver like me 🤤🤩

If you want to have a real Indian type ambience visit this place. I will guarantee you will not miss your home town. Food is good and authentic to the province the chef originates from. we could not pick any faults, we liked the food very much. I request the restaurant to cater to the authentic food for a long time to come. We love to visit again for the food but I request you to make sure to give the amenities and cleanliness a thought too.

Visited restaurant today 11/03/2019 for dinner, wrost customer service ever 😡 wrost experience ever👎🏻 It was our first time to be there.

We went 8 people in restaurant. After waiting for 15 minutes, 1 jug of water and 7 glass for 8 people and we requested can you please bring one more glass? Staff said 2 minutes but didn’t came back. And then staff served plates and spoons again for 7 people we asked for one more and staff came with the plate but no spoon and We waited more than 45 minutes for food. In between dinner I went to ask for water again they said 2 minutes but no-one came.

At last before we leave we asked for 2 jugs of water and glass again, staff said 2 minutes and this time staff brought 2 jugs of water but no glass again. We asked for glass and staff brought the glass and one of the sister from our group said to the staff “we asked for glass long time ago, no-one showed up it’s not good service” and the staff got angry and staff replied “we were too busy today that’s why” and she literally placed the glass on the table rudely and she left. As I can see the door was glass door, she went inside closed the kitchen door and her facial expression clearly explained that she is angry and talking about us because we were the only group at that time who she has to deal with.

Buy the way If you are wondering what is the staff’s Name who got angry, her preferred Name is “#Preety”.

During payment, I gave feedback and said why the staff was angry when we explained the truth what was happened to us, she didn’t said anything she was just shaking her head, she knows and God knows whether that means “Yes, No, sorry or anything”.

If you were that busy then you should have told us or explained us that you will be late to serve or at least something.

Learn some customer service skills and pay attention to your customer’s concern rather than just getting angry.

If you can’t apologize for your mistake, don’t show your attitude/anger/tantrums to me, think and improve. If you are there to work then you should know your job better than I do. Chahat’s staffs “Do you want to be treated like the same way that you treated us today?”

#Late service, forgetting glass, water, spoon again and again, getting angry if customer gave you feedback, and Lastly, I forgot to mention #Tissue was not provided despite asking more than 3 times. We went to the payment desk, the tissue was there we took some from there.

And that was my experience, #first and #last, #never_again✖️✖️✖️

#Want to end on good note #Chilli_chicken...

I wasn't going to put a review here. But then I thought let me have a look at other reviews and then I couldn't stop myself.

Reviews are eventually customer's feedback. If you can't take a bad review, don't run the business. Or at least know how to reply. These guys are threatening to smash their customers if they go in again or abusing them at their work places for giving bad reviews (look other previous reviews).

I am going to be brave and put a bad review, sorry but had to. My experience - I was waiting for my food which was already so late I didn't want to hang around if I didn't pay for it. While I was waiting, the lady on the reception literally abusing this person on the phone don't know for what. No matter what the case was, you cannot treat your customer like that. When I made the comment on collecting food, saying she must be having a bad day and not happy the food came so so late, she made the face and rudely replied there are other places I could go to if in a hurry. That point I decided not to come back again. When I opened the food, it smelt off and very hygienically packed.

For all these trouble and drama, no thanks I will just go...

Awful service. Food wasn't edible. Would have given a negative review. Ordered a 3 dal tadka which was basically whole dal and 3 malai kofta which were without kofta. Rang the restaurant for that pathetic food and they agreed to gave us credit. Few months later ordered the food again mentioning the credit due. They said come and we will discuss. When we went to collect the food, firstly they Insulted us for asking for credit and only deducted $22 from overall bill. Then we mentioned the actual ordered pathetic food were more than $22 and kindly requested to take extra $10 off after which they accused us saying that we complain every time about the Naan. As we have a self respect, we walk out of the restaurant before it gets any worse. I have a picture of the food they given us and message of their approval of the credit with their mobile Number. If anyone is interested i can provide it. When we went in the restaurant they said they don't have a time to discuss this. Now i will see if they have a time to answer this. DON'T GO TO...
