I had my son’s 1st birthday here. From the first enquiry to the actual day the event manager Hadyn was absolutely incredible. He was on top of all the organising and his communication was amazing. He even had excel spreadsheets for seating arrangements sent to me. He can do it all!! Hadyn made all my dreams come true for what I had visions for this private event in the greenhouse room for my son. The food was absolutely perfect- all of my family and guests agree! Can definitely recommend the sit down menu every single option was unreal. All of the staff went above and beyond on the day of the event and we had a giant ball pit set up for the kids and the staff really were genuinely happy that the kids were having a blast. Hadyn set up an aux chord so our family could play our own traditional music to enjoy on the day also. If you’re looking for a private space for an event in Adelaide look no further The Greenhouse at the Feathers is amazing! You will not regret it! You have space for quiet lounge chatting, enough room for kids to play and a gorgeous dining area covered completely with a glass sun roof. Amazing and can’t thank the team enough! 🙏🏾⭐️ We will definitely be back!

The atmosphere of this place is excellent. We sat in the outdoor court area and as the sun set and the sky became dark, the fairy lights above really made for a ambient dining experience. For an outdoor table setting, the table was a little bit dirty. The winds that were experienced shortly before our arrival may have had something to do with a thin layer of dust on the table. Service was acceptable but not outstanding by any means. When called upon, a waiter/waitress was able to attend to diners promptly. Self-service water was available as well as extra cutlery and table salt/pepper. Only point of criticism was that our mains did not come out within the same time frame. Roughly 8-9 min wait between first and last main reaching our table of four. Food was outstanding. Mains started from about $18-20 to around $25. Presentation was fantastic and serves were fairly generous. This had been one of the most pleasant pub/hotel dining experiences I've had.

One word for The Feathers? Frosty. Had dinner and a few beers here and, look, the food was good. The drinks were cold in the way they should be. Unfortunately, so was the air around us. No biggie, a couple heaters and we'd be right as rain. However, despite multiple customers politely asking for the door to be closed, the staff refused. And by refused, I mean they let that icy breeze whip through the venue like it was part of the décor. It turned what should have been a cosy evening into an uncomfortable one. No part of the pub offered shelter. We were all left to freeze in our seats. And that's the real issue. A hospitality venue exists to serve its customers. If your guests are visibly cold and repeatedly asking for something so simple, it should be a top priority to fix it. Instead, it felt like comfort was being sacrificed for convenience. That is not what good hospitality looks like. Just close the door. It's not hard. And it matters.

I’m writing this very honest review to caution others to think very carefully before booking a private function with The Feathers Hotel. What was supposed to be a very fun experience, planning my 30th birthday party, was spoilt by several things. Primarily, the incompetence of the staff and functions team. From beginning to end the correspondence with the functions team was average at best. The functions manager did not attend our planned initial meeting at the venue and did not send any explanatory message or apology.

I was notified 10 days before my event that the renovations in the area I had booked were incomplete. The way the news was delivered to me was vague, unapologetic and all round unclear as to what the solutions would/could be. Another unnecessary stressor that could have been avoided if the team were more proactive and offered better resolutions from the beginning.

During the entire liaison process, I was constantly being responded to by a different member of the functions team. This made the whole process feel very impersonal and I did not feel confident that my requests were being documented efficiently, which became evident during my event. I told the FM several times via email that I wanted a set dollar figure for the tab, which was still not included in the final invoice and needed to be reminded of once again during my event.

Things went from average to worse.

On the day of my event, my husband arrived early to assist in setting up. He was not greeted by anyone and by the time I had arrived almost 10 minutes later, we were still ignored, had to find a staff member and request to speak to someone regarding the event. Staff on hand during Saturday appeared puzzled as to why we were there and didn't ask if they could be of assistance. Extremely unhelpful. By the time the events manager had come down, guests were starting to arrive and wanting to be served. The staff at the bar did not have a tab set up or know which drinks were on the approved list. The events manager had to set this up almost 20 minutes after guests were arriving and even then, the drinks list for guests were not available for my guests to see in the function area. Throughout the event, many of my guests needed to repeatedly ask both myself and my husband what drinks were on the tab, as the bar staff still did not know.

Now for the shocker!!

I had set the bar tab to $1000 for the event, as per emails with the event manager. It was agreed that the bar tab would conclude when the amount had been met and guests would pay for their own drinks. Nobody on the day came up to me to advise the bar tab had completed or near completion. Instead, the bar staff kept adding to this tab, exceeding it by almost another $800. This very inconvenient error on behalf of The Feathers left me with no option but to pay the outstanding bill on my departure, as I wanted to get my child home after a long day. I am disappointed that even after reaching out to The Feathers, I have not been contacted regarding the issues I have raised. Overall, the space and ambience of the location is not worth it. I have booked many events at multiple venues in my time, and I can easily say that this was one of the most disorganised, inexperienced team...

I had ordered the Mclaren Vale Free-Range Chicken Breast with smashed oat & almond crust on sweet corn puree with a side of asparagus salad. This meal costs $28. The value of this meal is by far not worth it and should be avoided at all costs. The size of the food was smaller than an entree size. The two pieces of chicken would have been just a little larger than an egg each. The smashed oat and almond crust coating around the chicken honestly tasted like bread crumbs It was so bland and had no flavor at all. There was absolutely no taste of almond or oats. The chicken itself was rather ordinary, something I could do better and I am terrible at cooking. It was served on top of the sweet corn puree (at most was 1 tablespoon) and the asparagus was 4 tablespoons on the side in four different places. The asparagus salad tasted like it was drowned in vinegar. Finally to fill in the massive empty space on the plage with some brown sauce which I have no idea what it was. It was really embarrassing to receive this as it was commented by other people at the gathering why did I only get an entree. When they found out that is a main course and at a cost of $28 they were horrified. I would have only paid $10 for that meal. When all the meals were served I noticed that even a kids meal was at least 4 times the amount of food and would have been at least half the price. I understand that it is a local product and always prepared to pay extra to support local business and keep locals employed but this time the cost of the meal to the ratio recieved was a joke, really terrible! The only thing that was good about the experience is the presentation was great and the service from the staff was great but that meal has turned a great evening into a terrible terrible experience and one that I wish I had of gone else where instead. On the way home had gone to another venue to have something eat which was much nicer and much more reasonable in price. Please pass my comments onto the chef so this experienced doesn't happen to others. After find out where we were going I looked up the reviews for the place which looked impressive and I was super excited to go. The venue looked great but the meal was extremely awful and absolute waste of money and doubt I...

Food not have lot of flavour-had cheesy herb& garlic bread(like damper but not much cheese or garlic butter), prawn&chilli honey pizza(really hot chilli with barely any prawn& no honey taste nor any sweetness), prawn& pork vermicelli salad (barely any salad& very watery dressing was a let down with very few prawns or pork for price charged), prawn& crab spring rolls (tiny& oily but at least crunchy but dressing over powered filling flavour), sex on beach cocktail jug was fruity but couldn't taste any alcohol in it!!!

Beer garden was cold and heaters couldn't be turned on by us coz broken but not fixed and heaters further away we got turned on but were up too high to do anything and heat rises not falls so not really make any difference being on anyway......

Had to ask multiple staff to get heaters turned on and get water for table and had wrong meals brought to our tables when we not even ordered our food coz still had menus sitting on table in front of us!!!!

The food all came out together, that was supposed to come out staggered, garlic bread then entree spring rolls, then main salad and other parties order of food at the table came out way later than the first lot of food that was supposed to be staggered, don't understand why kitchen didn't better time their cooking of food to come out at right times together????

The tables are wonky on uneven ground and the plastic chairs are very flimsy, so be careful if u like solid chairs or are a heavy person like myself, felt chair could give way every time I had to get up to order or get drink or go to...
