Feathers Pavilion Cafe — Restaurant in Adelaide

The Pavillion has changed a fair bit since I used to go regularly. We think it is now expensive and I found it hard to choose something 'classic' from the menu. I think a steak burger at $31 is a bit steep, and then having to add $4 on top for fries makes it pricey. It was very nice, but overpriced. A cereal size bowl of fries was $13! The beer prices on the menu did not match the till and when I questioned it, the waitress just shrugged her shoulders and said the menu was in the process of being changed. She did not honour the menu price, which I thought was somewhat disappointing and I don't think I will return. Her attitude was very 'eye rolly'. There is one waitress there (and I can't remember her name, long dark hair and always friendly - it was a Thursday if that helps!) who is a credit to the cafe, but she seems to be the only one who is efficient and friendly. Today was cake and coffee in a beautiful setting. This is definitely a spot for an afternoon snack. You're taken into the Alice in Wonderland's Mad Hatter tea party.

Though there is a pub and bottle shop in adjacent buildings, I did feel I needed to dress up a bit for the beautiful surrounds. The food, a blueberry tart and raspberry cheesecake, was lovely and the coffee was smooth with a gentle bitterness. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

The food at Feathers Pavilion Cafe was good and I enjoyed my meal overall. The quality of the dishes and the taste were satisfactory. However, the main issue was the slow service - it took much longer than expected for my food to arrive and even more to brought my hubby food. This delay detracted from an otherwise positive dining experience. If they can improve their kitchen efficiency, serving times and presentation in their plates , it would greatly enhance the overall experience for diners. Because my food arrived late and not was that good served as you can see in the photo.
