A old style place and few lots of regular customers. It was my first time and I really enjoyed the food. The reviews are mixed, but I really had a positive experience. The fish was fresh and well cooked (I asked for it to be well cooked). The salads were perfect combination for the fish. The chips are remarkable. The guy was friendly and did suggest the seafood salad which lived up to the expectation. Well it was a large meal for that price.

Such a shame this place has gone down hill so far in the last 10 years or so. From disgusting hotdogs to receiving wrong orders multiple times. To having no cutlery for their hot packs and now one thing that I though was their saving grace.. their chicken wings.. Smelly and sticky - I wasn't going to take the risk. Every time I think I'll give them another go - disapointment is the result.

Just bought lunch for myself. Chicken was uncooked and totally raw in the middle. The greek salad was off. The olives were decaying and smelled like compost. Whats happened to this place. Used to be the best place around. Disgusting.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. This happened on 27/12/2020. I ordered veggie nuggets (via menulog) for a vegetarian friend but Golden Rooster sent real chicken nuggets. My friend took one bite and ended up vomiting for 30 minutes. Called Golden Rooster and spoke to a man with an accent who kept YELLING at us down the phone and talked over us claiming he had rang menulog who told him it was okay to send real chicken nuggets instead of veggie nuggets (I called them and as suspected, they never spoke to anyone from that business). This place used to be the gem of Salisbury but now all they serve is lies, condescension and potentially deadly food allergens. In all my 30 years I have NEVER been spoken to like that by a business and it is so much worse because it was THEIR mistake!...

If I could give this place minus 5 stars I would! 1 quarter chicken hotpack consisting of 5 roast potatoes all so raw they were crunchy, peas so overcooked they were mushy, I don't know what the hell the gravy was but it was disgusting, had the consistency of transparent jelly and when cold it could actually be cut into squares. The chicken was so tough I can only liken it to chewing cotton wool balls and the stuffing was so salty someone is going to get sodium poisoning. The dog got the lot (minus stuffing) and I spent all night throwing up because of the tiny bit I did have! Arguably the WORST hotpack in Adelaide!...

Worst fish and chip joint I've ever visited. The chips are always undercooked with no crisp at all, the gravy tastes weird with some gas taste to it, I ordered an extra large chips and gravy pack for $12 and my finance saw the lady tell the person who was doing our order to grab the smaller portion box when she grabbed the big one and it was about the same amount of chips as the minimum order they are actually ripping people off please do not waste your time and money, I don't know how they are still in business. I'm not normally picky or have something bad to say about a food place but this place...
