âââââ We went to Leyan Persian Restaurant with the family and from the moment we walked in, we were truly impressed. The restaurant has such a warm and authentic feel. The decor is absolutely amazing, with touches that made us feel like weâd stepped into a little piece of Iran.
We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated quickly. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. It really felt like they cared about giving us a great experience.
We ordered kabab with rice to share and it was absolutely delicious. The kabab was tender, juicy, and full of flavour, and the rice was perfectly cooked light, fluffy, and aromatic. The portions were very generous, which was great since we were sharing as a family.
It was one of those meals that brings everyone to the table and leaves you smiling and satisfied. We all left full and happy, already talking about when weâll come back. Leyan is a true gem for anyone in Salisbury looking for a little something special with an authentic Persian cuisine twist in a beautiful and welcoming setting.

Read moreIts great if you actually eat at the place, apart from the annoyingly loud fan in the kitchen that whines like a jet turbine into the dining area. Beware if you order delivery, the âsaladâ is just a large bunch of fresh mint. They forgot to include the bread I ordered, and they no longer included yoghurt sauce as the once did. Like most other places they no longer use lamb backstraps, but some other cheaper cut, dryer, and less succulent. I have subsequently revisited Layan. The service was excellent and friendly from the waitress. However, they are still cooking the rice in SA tap water, which gives it a strong unpleasant flavour. So I ordered some flat bread to accompany the kebabs. When I went to pay for my meal they had charged me $12 for a small basket of 6 or so small bread pieces cut from the large round Afghan style bread. I couldnât believe it, I buy that bread for home and its only around $3 for an entire pack. Very poor form! And I would suggest investing in a tap filter, the rice would taste like rice...
Read moreThis place is relatively far from the city, but due to positive reviews on Google, I decided to give it a try. When I first entered the restaurant, the first thing that bothered me was the very bad and heavy smell of burnt oil or something similar. Then we ordered food, which was a mixed kebab platter. Unfortunately, my rice did not have saffron while my partner's rice had saffron, and my kebab came with a tomato, but my partner's did not have a tomato. I asked them to bring me saffron rice, which they did, but it was completely cold. The next thing that caught my attention was the small size of the kebab skewers, with each skewer having no more than five kebabs. The taste of the food was good, but at this price and taste, I have definitely had better kebabs elsewhere, which, of course, are much closer and have a more desirable...
