I recently visited Hungry Jack's and, unfortunately, my experience was significantly impacted by the service I received from one of the staff members, Riley French. I am usually someone who enjoys their meals and understands that service can vary from time to time, but the interaction I had with Riley left a very negative impression.
Upon arriving at the counter, I was greeted with a very cold, almost dismissive attitude from Riley. Instead of a warm welcome or even the typical acknowledgment, Riley’s tone was blunt and unenthusiastic, as if I was inconveniencing him by simply placing an order. His body language only amplified this unpleasant vibe, with crossed arms and a lack of eye contact that made it feel like he would rather be anywhere else than working at Hungry Jack’s in that moment.
As I tried to place my order, Riley’s responses were curt and lacked the basic courtesy expected in any customer service role. Every question I asked was met with a tone that bordered on rude. For example, when I asked for a slight modification to my order, Riley barely made an effort to engage with the request. His response was uninterested, almost as if he were annoyed by my desire for a simple customization.
This continued throughout the interaction, and it became evident that Riley was not only unhelpful but seemed impatient, as though he couldn't be bothered to do his job in a manner that was respectful or accommodating. The way he communicated was both sharp and impolite, making the whole ordering process uncomfortable and far less pleasant than it should have been.
The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism really stood out. In a fast-food setting, where interactions are typically brief, you expect at least a baseline level of politeness, and Riley's behavior fell far below that. He didn’t acknowledge or apologize for any mistakes, and there was no attempt to remedy the situation when it was clear that I wasn’t entirely satisfied with the service. At one point, after I had asked a follow-up question, Riley responded with an eye roll that was completely unnecessary and unprofessional.
It was especially disappointing because I know that Hungry Jack's has a reputation for generally friendly and efficient service. I have been a customer there for many years and have never encountered a situation quite like this. Unfortunately, Riley’s behavior was a stark contrast to the usual positive experiences I've had, and it left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer.
Even when I received my food, there was no customary “enjoy your meal” or any polite parting words. Riley handed over the order in a very detached manner, and that was the end of the interaction. I left the restaurant feeling disrespected and irritated, not because of the food but because of the attitude I had received.
It’s disheartening to experience such a lack of professionalism in a service environment. While I understand that everyone has off days, Riley’s behavior was far beyond what could be considered a simple bad day. It’s essential for businesses like Hungry Jack's to ensure that their staff understand the importance of a positive and respectful demeanor, as it directly impacts the overall customer experience. Unfortunately, based on my experience with Riley, I don’t feel inclined to return...
Read morei hadn't eaten a Hungry Jack's beef hamburger in over 20 years (as i went vego). but yesterday i was tired and really had a craving for a tasty meat burger. so i drove in here expecting a yummy flame grilled burger, like i ate 20 years ago at Hungry Jacks in Hurstville, NSW. but this was my experience -: i was not given a serviette and as i was so hungry i forgot to collect one from the dispenser near the door. ... after eating the burger which was horrible, i dashed to the ladies room, to wash my hands, (due to having no serviette). there was no toilet paper and no air dryer either. as i was walking out, in shock and disgust, a young lady staff member passed me by me and caught my eye. i said "there is no toilet paper! she nodded in response and said "no paper". i felt ridiculous at having eaten here. the meat in the burger tasted steamed and bland. the bun was not toasted, it was soggy. there was barely any tomato sauce. if i hadn't added lots of pepper and salt, the whole thing would have been just creamy, bland and tasteless. Such a disappointment. Please do better, because i know you can. i was going to give only one star, but the place was bright and clean at least, so you...
Read moreAfter a grueling 4 night shifts, because of this i haven’t seen my kids that long, I treated my two kids to breakfast at this restaurant, opting for dine-in service. However, they mistakenly prepared our order for take-out and called my name from across the room (i mean what the??? Ive opted for dine in). Frustrated, I approached the counter only to find my food packed in excessive packaging. To make matters worse, our pancake order was missing essentials like butter and maple syrup (how can you eat without it). Despite it being a quiet public holiday with just us and other 2 patrons (one teenager just went in for the internet to do something in his laptop then left). The staff seemed unable to get it right. Even when I ordered chicken fries later, the same mistake was repeated. It's disappointing that the service and attention to detail were lacking. The state of the restroom only added to the overall unpleasant experience (someone exploded in the toilet like a crime scene). This leaves a lasting impression as we tried to enjoy our meal. I should’ve drove further to ingle farm branch. At least there if you order as dine in they will bring the...
