Indian Tandoori Palace — Restaurant in Adelaide

Very disappointing. This is my local and I desperately wanted this to be good for so many reasons. I only went there because it is empty every day and wanted to see for myself if it was just poor marketing or poor quality product. Unfortunately it was the latter.

I only ordered a full tandoori chicken and a lamb vindaloo. The chicken serve was very small, had absolutely no flavour and was dry and tasted like it had been reheated up in the microwave.

The lamb dish was mainly sauce, and any remnants of meat were actually fat and gristle which was disgusting and inedible.

What's worse, I have offered my services for free to help them improve their business as so many restaurants have gone bust there, so they need to understand how to cater for the local market and how to run an effective campaign.

I really wanted this place to succeed, but I feel it is not going to last very long. I'm still willing to help them, but they need to want to try as well.

I sent the owner an email to not worry about a refund and that I had tried to contact him on two previous occasions. I never heard from him since I declined the refund and one can only assume he responded so to be seen as taking some action.

I don't expect a response, BUT, I drove past during prime time and they were completely empty. Maybe the owner doesn't want help, well that's fine, but then say so, don't just ignore customers who are wanting to help.

Being of Indian descent formerly from Singapore, I’m critical when it comes to food! This place is an under explored kingdom! The food is incredible! Each dish was delicious with so much depth and bursting with flavour. Pricing and portion size was a bonus! Great selection of starters, mains and sides! A fine beverage list, limited desserts, however good kulfi (just need to increase portion size and creaminess). Yummy parathas and naan breads! This is a truely terrible restaurant. My experience was as follows: The chicken tikka was clearly microwaved, and tasted like it. The “beef” in the korma was very questionable. The naan bread was good, but cold. The service was terrible. The layout of tables is certainly not COVID-safe. And to top off a terrible evening the owner argued with me after overcharging me.
