Latte Studio Unley — Restaurant in Adelaide

I don't often, if ever leave bad reviews but I'm hoping this one will allow for growth/learning. I'm a local and want to love this cafe. However my experience this morning was really average and irritating. I came in for a quick take away coffee and the EFPTOS facilities weren't working yet - totally fine, these things happen. However the young lady behind the counter was obviously concerned about this and not at all about me. She spoke so quietly I had to continually ask her to repeat herself. The music was on but not loud however she continued to whisper which made the whole interaction really painful. When a customer is asking you to repeat yourself over and over and literally leaning across the counter to try and understand what you're saying, something is up. She was clearly uncomfortable and barely made eye contact with me which then made me feel uncomfortable too. There was some misunderstanding about cash vs using eftpos, what i was wanting etc because I couldn't hear her and then she kinda just.. checked out and stopped interacting with me all-together. When my coffee was ready she just left it on the counter, didn't say anything to me and just went back to fussing with the EFTPOS under the bench. I only noticed it was ready because I was sending emails from my phone and looked up. My keep cup was overfilled so coffee went everywhere when I tried to put the lid on and rather than offer to help me she just ignored me til I asked for a serviette and then still just went back to what she was doing. This was a very disappointing brunch experience. Google Maps showed that the restaurant closes at 3:00 PM, and we arrived at 2:13 PM. However, two staff members were already cleaning up and hurriedly asked us to place our order, showing no basic courtesy or proper customer service. From the moment we entered until the end of our meal, they continued making loud noises while packing up, which seriously affected the dining atmosphere.

What was even more unacceptable was that the coffee cup was visibly dirty. It seemed like the staff, eager to leave, simply grabbed an unwashed cup to serve my drink. Additionally, the spinach was full of sand, clearly not washed properly—it was unpleasant to eat and completely ruined the meal.

Overall, both the service attitude and food hygiene were extremely disappointing. I won’t be coming back and would not recommend this...

My friend and I stayed til closing time, food was great and the drinks. However, at 3pm (mind you, I’ve never been here before) they close, but my friend and I were talking so much, we didn’t notice the time. The workers turned the music up super loud at one point, then we got kicked out in a rude way, we mentioned that we didn’t know it shut at 3pm and the rude guy that served us, said that “it always shuts at 3pm”.
