55 people had dinner tonight. Yes it was a corporate post CNY celebrations. Some of us wanted chilli oil, cut chillies in soya sauce and some top up of tea in the pot. First time they gave for a table of 11 -one teaspoon of what we asked. When we asked second time , we were so shocked to see the waitress making an ugly frowned face and sulked badly, suddenly she replied, no more chilli oil all finished! Well, even the 12 dishes we ordered were below average. It wasn’t enough to go round!! None of us took extras. Yet, food quantity was compromised!! Gosh… they were extremely stingy in quantity and quality too & their service were absolutely disgusting. Just before the final dessert arrived, a couple of young waitress cleared the dishes! Table top had lots of tissues, some snack wrappers and pumpkin seeds, waitress just ignored and left!! For the serving of dessert, they kept placing empty bowls, spoons on top of these litter without any guilt!! Gosh, we grabbed some tissues and frantically were collecting lots of these waste as it looked awful on the table!! Another waitress was already waiting to place the bowl of dessert and I told the other waitress to clear the table first . She sulked so badly and reluctantly collected the rubbish in a haste, dropped some back onto table & left Next, we were feeling thirsty as food was tasting only of soy sauce. When we asked for some water, the waitress till the end didn’t serve us and finally we asked her to top up the tea jug…. She added hot water & placed on table & left. Colour of the chrysanthemum tea was clear white!! The tea rarely tasted tea!! Why so much of sulkiness when you’re in the hospitality line?? Dessert was just chilled canned fruit cocktail and a canned lychee!! Each of us had two cubes of cocktail fruit and one small lychee in lots of coloured sugared syrup!! Aren’t we paying for the food served? Disgusting service and it’s a shame. None of us who attended today will ever return to this restaurant in future! Absolutely...

Extremely disappointing and borderline discriminatory experience.

We had one of the worst dining experiences at this restaurant, and I feel compelled to speak up about the unacceptable behavior we encountered. The service was absolutely terrible – especially from a female staff member at the front.

She was shockingly rude from the start. When our food arrived, she slammed the dishes down without a word, made zero effort to introduce the items, and left us completely confused about what we were eating. Meanwhile, at the table next to us – clearly locals or Westerners – she was kind, patient, smiling, and even poured their water for them personally. The contrast was disturbing.

We were a group of Asian diners with a small child, and yes, our child cried for a bit – as children sometimes do. We were doing our best to calm them down, but instead of showing even the slightest empathy, this staff member threw a toy at our table without saying a word. Threw it. No explanation, no smile, no kindness – just tossed it like we were some kind of nuisance. Was that supposed to make us "shut up"? The message was loud and clear, and deeply offensive.

Frankly, it felt like we were being discriminated against for being Asian. The whole experience left us feeling humiliated and unwelcome. It’s 2025 – how is this still happening?

The food was decent, but honestly, I would never recommend this place to anyone after how we were treated. Service matters. Respect matters. Basic human decency matters. If you’re thinking of coming here and you’re not a local or don’t “look” a certain way –...

Everytime I come here the food has been amazing, I love coming back to try new dishes. And I recommend this place to my friends.

Recently had the CNY banquet (4-6 persons) and all the dishes were delicious !

Also on top of the banquet I specially ordered the Singapore Chilli crab which I think is the best in Adelaide ! Has a delicious chilli, tomato-y umami flavour. The thick sauce was the best mopped up with fried bao buns. The mud crab was fresh, meaty and delicious.

Other standout dishes are the taro duck (moist taro) and a tasty and seasoned duck. Steamed fish was excellent (can’t go wrong ).

Pork belly baos, the pork was sooo soft and tender. And beef brisket was amazingly soft as well.

The fried frying noodles with prawn is theatrical and crispy, but needed a bit more flavour.

Had a satisfying dinner. They have a Malaysian chef who does Malaysian dishes for lunch menu. And a Taiwanese Chef who cooks the dinner menu so it has so much variety you have to come back at least twice or more.

Service is...

The Taiwanese beef noodle soup was very rich and beefy and tasted pretty authentic; I really liked the noodles too as they're the 'proper' ones and not the typical egg noodles. They were nicely cooked as well as it was bouncy and slightly chewy when served. The Sarawak Laksa is better than the one at L Law (the mix of herbs more closely resembles a "real" Sarawak laksa and it has a better balance of saltiness and coconut milk), albeit slightly thinner than the one at Hawker Walker. It does taste pretty authentic though I must say. It came with plenty of noodles and broth, but the fish cakes were so thinly sliced its almost see through! My only other complain is that it was missing the sliced egg/ommelete, belachan and lime. Service was quick and they were very flexible to do us up a bowl of steamed vegetables too that wasn't on their menu. To try local Malaysian (street) food you'd need to drop in at lunch time, they have other local beverages and local sweets on the menu as well. 3.5 stars.

Absolutely pleased with the staff and service at Sui Restaurant! We went there for lunch some months ago and was given a table without a reservation. We wanted to order the boneless roast duck (as it was easier for my kids - but did not tell the waitress at the time) but was told that was only available for dinner. We ordered the (normal) roast duck instead but the waitress came back out and said the chef was going to make it boneless as he saw we had kids dining with us. With my next order of Dry Tossed Noodle with Roast Duck, the waitress came out again to advise that the noodle is tossed in lard (which she knew I cannot have) so the chef will change and toss it in shallot oil instead. I was pleasantly surprised by such attention and it is definitely a testament to Malaysian hospitality! So happy to get the taste the wonderful food here which very much reminds me of home. Much recommended and thank you again to the staff and chef!
