Dinner at @barlune_adl - a recently opened bar and restaurant. The food was great, the drinks list was pretty extensive,, and the atmosphere was trendy, but a bit on the loud side. Had to literally shout at times to talk to the person on the opposite side of your table 😅. So it's not for you if you hate the noise 😅. . Taramasalata, shoestring fries: I quite enjoyed this dish! The fish roe was not too fishy or too rich, and the shoestring fries were excellent, and combined well with the taramasalata! . Celeriac and tilset croquettes: this one was a bit different compared to the usual croquettes. Tasty ingredients! . Wood grilled Goolwa pipis, XO butter: this dish was fantastic! We always love pipis and these were cooked perfectly. Would have been nice to have some bread with this dish. Flavours are strong and the sauce was tasty, so bread would have been nice to pair with it. . Pappardelle, duck leg, pancetta, hazelnut pangrattato: very nicely done pasta. Not the best pasta I've ever had, but it was still damn tasty! Really good duck sauce 😋🤤. . BBQ squid, chilli sambal, burnt lemon: this was super good! The squid was very tender. The sambal sauce tasted great, but again, it would have been nice to serve this dish with rice or bread. It's a bit too bold without some accompaniments. . Grilled pork, miso clams, smoked bacon: really tender grilled pork with delicious clams. A different version of the surf and turf ☺️. . Brussel sprouts, lap cheong, cauliflower, fried lentil, curry leaves: loved this dish. Lots of yummy ingredients 😋. Really interesting to put lap cheong with the sprouts 🤤🤤. . Apple tarte tartin, star anise, black pepper, vanilla ice cream: the tart was super flaky. Loved the combination of the warm tart and the ice cream 😍. . Torched marshmallow, white chocolate, passionfruit, pistachio: the marshmallow was really tasty, but the white chocolate was too sweet. The passionfruit was in the form of a powder, which was quite...

We were looking for a GOOD lunch on a Thursday afternoon and noticed that Bar Lune was in the Eat Club app. Offering a discount between 12pm - 3pm for eating in, it was the perfect opportunity to try this well-talked about restaurant out.

Georgina was our server and an absolute delight. Happy to have a chat and a laugh, she really added to our lunch experience and, best of all, makes a great cocktail as well.

As for our eating and drinking…

Wake & Shake Cocktail - VODKA, COFFEE LIQUEUR. ORANGE LIQUEUR, ESPRESSO

.No skimping on alcohol with this drink, it definitely lived up to its name..

EATS MACADAMIA LABNEH, CHILLI CRISP, CUCUMBER, FOCCACIA

A lovely, creamy dish that brings a bit of heat and pairs well with the crunchy, toasted focaccia

WAGYU SIRLOIN 300G. PICKLED ONION, GREMOLATA, JUS

perfectly cooked, I was worried this steak was a little thin. It was bursting with flavour though and an absolute treat to eat.

GRILLED CABBAGE, NUOC CHAM, FRIED GARLIC

Come for the cabbage stay for the nice cham. The dressing on this side order was the star of the show, so much so that I could have eaten another serving of this often criticises veggie.

We may have been the first ones in the restaurant but had the privilege of choosing the music (I chose ‘cruisey’ tunes’), having a great meal and having a great laugh and chat with Georgina. That’s all I want...

Unfortunately not the best experience.

Had a 2 hour sitting in which we ordered the “feed me” menu. Ordered a back vintage “cellar wine” was given the bottle with no decanter even though other tables ordering normal wine were given one. Nearing the end of our 2 hours we were told to move outside as the table was booked for another time. No issues here, however the table next to us were there for over 2 hours and weren’t told to move at all.

Once outside, we were sat down in the freezing cold with one small heater on (the others were off) and completely forgotten about. Waited 40mins for our dessert, which never arrived.

We weren’t seen to at all after we were sent outside nor did we get offered any drinks or check ups. Completely forgotten about.

When brought to the attention of the staff I was dealt with rather appalling attitude from one of the waitresses and little care was given to us being forgotten about.

I do not recommend this place at all and for the price they want to charge for their “experince” nor do I appreciate the terrible service and attitude...

We stumbled upon Luna Bar after finishing a movie nearby and decided to give it a try. While the space itself had a nice vibe, the initial service felt a little cold — the staff seemed disinterested and not particularly welcoming as we were seated. We ordered a few dishes to share, and the highlight was definitely the blue swimmer crab, which was fresh and well-executed. However, the rest of the meal was a bit underwhelming. The steak arrived cold and quite a bit later than expected. There was a noticeable 30-minute gap between our mains, which made the dining experience feel disjointed — especially when you expect mains like pasta and steak to come out together. The scallops and beef intercostal skewers were just okay — nothing particularly memorable or flavourful. While the menu has potential, the inconsistent service and timing of the food made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. Hopefully just an off night, but unsure if we’d rush back.
