Food: we ordered fried chicken, corn cheese and army hotpot. We are pretty happy about the fried chicken, which has above average quality. However, the corn cheese tastes purely like corn and a little bit cheese, can change the name to “corn with cheese” since not enough cheese. Hot pot as shown below with one third of spring onion and onion to fill in, which makes the pot stuffy with non-eatable stuff(ofc they are eatable, but we are not paying to have spring onions here). Service: I came to the counter, told the girl who works here I wish to order chips to start with in person instead of ordering online. ( I don’t trust online payment in random website). She said yes and I left. Few mins later, she told me if I need to order anything i must come to the counter. I asked her that if her meaning is I need to pay it first. she said yes, tbh I don’t mind paying upfront, but girl you need to let your customer know straight away instead of letting her go and make her to come again to pay. As first time customer, I do not have the right to know every rules within your restaurant, and at least you can be nicer to me, let’s say giving me one smile, not letting me feel like it’s my fault that I didn’t pay so I can’t be served. The guy over the counter is actually quite nice, but when I complained about this incident he didn’t respond to me. So I believe further customer service would be essential. Long story to short, I’ll give only 2 Stars for the fried chicken, and try not to order other food since it’s risky. And if you don’t want to pay online, YOU MUST WAIT AT THE COUNTER FOR FEW MINUTES WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS, and nobody gonna tell you...
Read moreFirst impression 5/10 -Not great, we walked in and waited by the door for like 30 seconds awkwardly until some staff notice us( there are other guest with the same issue, they left without waiting)
Food wise. Fried cheese sticks4/10 - Served in 30 seconds after prdeing and comes warm... Cheese inside wasn't melted and it felt like they pre-fried it and warm it under hear lamp.
Kimchi Pancake 3/10 - We had kimchi pancake all around Adelaide and their kimchi pancake is by far the most burnt, thickest and doughest pancake you can find, lack favouring as well. It's like eating a vegetable bread with kimchi flavour.
Ginseng chicken soup 3/10 - Pretty disappointing, the soup served hot, but the chicken was ice cold when cut open, I know it's impractical to ask them to prepare ginseng chicken soup from scratch at the spot, but serving cold chicken? It's just lazy.
Sizzling Bulgogi 7/10- This was the only good thing we had in this meal, it was sweet, exciting and filled with flavour. Portion size can be tweaked a little bit but overall this dish taste great in both asian and western standard.
Environment 6/10- We walked in 8:30 Friday night, there is great music, environment is pretty vibrant, restaurant is crowded. But I felt like it more designed for Korean crowded than to general public. Waiting staff can get a bit more training and not standing behind bars chatting( they can't see the customer from that angle)
Overall I'll give this restaurant a 5/10, based on service, food and environment. Let hope it will show some improvement next...
Read moreA couple of years ago, this place was bustling and full of life. Now? It’s a ghost town and after tonight’s experience, it’s easy to see why and I will never go back.
We came in, ordered a couple bottles of soju at the counter, and asked if it was okay to dine in. The staff said yes - no mention of any rules or food requirements. So we sat down, settled in, and started to relax.
Then out of nowhere, an older man (manager or owner?) approached us with a stern tone and proceeded to lecture us for not ordering food. Apparently, there’s a small sign at the front saying food is required for dine-in; but no one pointed it out, and it definitely wasn’t mentioned when we placed the order. If this was mentioned we would have obliged or left the premises and avoiding the awful and humiliating interaction with the older man/owner.
It felt like a complete bait and switch. We were made to feel like we’d broken some rule no one told us about, and the tone was far from professional. If you have a dine-in policy, tell your staff to communicate it - don’t wait until customers are mid-drink and then scold them for something they weren’t told in the first place. 😡
With that kind of attitude, it’s no surprise the place was empty. We won’t be back - and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming or...
