service has much to be desired. Hubby and I had a booking and upon our arrival we were not greeted. I had to get the attention of the staff member myself. Only one customer there at the time. He then told us where to sit. Right next to the takeaway section, on a table with no setting. He then plonked some pappadams and a bottle of water on the table. No communication at all. We ended up moving tables ourself to one in a bit better location. We then had to ask if we could order drinks, which came with no ice. Followed by a request from us to order our food. Table still not set! We waited for 40 min for just my entre to come out....samosas. staff just plonked this infront of me and walked away. Here I sat waiting for cutlery so I could start eating. After waiting 5 minutes I had to go to the counter and request cutlery so I could start to eat my now cool entre. He basically threw two forks and two knives in my hand. I finished my entre while my hubby watched on. Listening to the phone constantly ringing in the background not being answered! The leg on hubby's chair was broken and the chair nearly collapsed so he had to get himself another chair. Another 10 minutes later hubby's entre arrived. Hubby had to get his own serviettes that had been left on another table. All of this took place within the first hour of us arriving! We've now been here one hour and 20 minutes. Phone still ringing and no sign of our main course. Entre dishes are still sitting infront of us. There is lots of takeaway going out the door and all customers that have come in to pick up theirs have now left. Interesting.... people that arrived to dine in after our arrival are now getting their meal while we still wait! Just told staff about the broken chair and he hasn't removed it. I guess it's up to us to tell someone should they try to sit on it. 1 hour and 30 minutes after arrival we get our main course. Not impressed with the serving size. My butter chicken is a bowl of sauce with only 6 chunks of chicken in it. Still waiting for our naan bread! Oh it's just arrived. Staff just dumped the basket on my dinner plate! Where he has just also plonked my knife and fork. Hubby's curry beef that is supposed to be mild, well let's just say he'll be suffering tomorrow! Hubby's naan bread still not here. It's arrived....it was handed to him to hold as there is no room on the table. Staff just walked away. Hubby has just put all the empty dishes on another table to make room. They are still sitting on the other table. Hubby's cheese naan was served on a bed of serviettes so he is sitting here now peeling serviette off his bread where it has stuck to the cheese. Getting thirsty now but haven't been asked if we'd like to order another drink and to be honest this whole experience has been the worst we have ever had when dining in so I'd rather not spend one more cent here than we already have! Read moreWe’ve come here for a long time, but never again. Mother’s Day at 5:50 I placed an order to be delivered for $110. I knew they would be busy but the lady said 30-40 mins and our food would arrive. Sceptical, I allowed 50-55 mins. I then called the first time. I was told it was 2 minutes away. 15 minutes later I called again, the same lady that had picked up everytime again said it was on its way and that I had to understand they were busy. I said completely agree but just be honest with wait times. Again she said it was 2 minutes away. Another 15 minutes goes past, I call again. This time I’m angry. The lady would not accept any responsibility for lying, and continued to lie saying it was on its way. The food had not even left the shop. She continued to say about another 5 times that I needed to understand. These people, this company knew full well they were busy and wait times would exceed 2hrs for delivery but continued to take customers money and say 30-40 minute wait time. I told them to cancel my order and refund my money. They pretended they couldn’t and continued to pretend to message the delivery driver and “superior” who I guess was the manager. After another 10-15 minutes of demanding my money back they just hung the phone up on me. I called back and again demanded a refund where they said. We will give you the money back but our Superior has told us not to give you your food. I said good. I don’t want your food give me my money. They again told me I would have to wait and call back the next day so the superior could do it. It got to the stage that I had to get in my car and drive to Blackwood and physically attend the shop and demand my money. They returned my money out the till. The shop was empty and there were 3 orders just sitting there getting cold awaiting delivery. I’d hate to think how long that food was sitting there and how long those customers were waiting. This establishment, Raj on Taj - Blackwood has gone down hill. I will never return. The lady that was serving was rude and lied continually about my order. She would not take any accountability and instead demanded that I needed to understand after lying to me and being caught out. The head chef wasn’t much better either. The fact I ordered delivery and had to drive to the shop to get my money back is an absolute disgrace. Thank god Zambreros was next door. The wife, kids and I finally got to eat dinner at 8:10pm. And it ruined the wife’s evening on Mothers Day. Good work Raj on Taj. I’ll finish off by saying, guys there are Indian restaurants everywhere with multiple around the Blackwood area, avoid going here at all costs. Go else where so you’re not disappointed. Read moreAbsolutely appalling experience with Raj on Taj Blackwood. We placed an order that cost us $110 and live less than 10 minutes from the store. After waiting over two hours with no delivery, we called multiple times and were repeatedly told the food was "on its way"—yet it never arrived. When we asked for a refund, we were passed around between three different people, only to be told they couldn't refund us because the food was supposedly being delivered.
When we pushed back and insisted on a refund, we were told no one there even knew how to process one. This is not only terrible customer service but also a clear breach of ACCC consumer rights. Eventually, they agreed to a refund—but said we wouldn’t get the food, which we accepted at that point just to be done with it. Even then, the refund wasn’t processed, and we had to drive to the store ourselves just to try to get our money back.
Still not sure if we’ll ever actually see that $110 again. Completely unacceptable—will never order from here again and wouldn’t recommend...
