this is the result of mass expansion and corporate progression. Unfortunately the true essence of Vietnamese cuisine which includes taste and value have disappeared in the search of creating a profit and keeping afloat the many franchises that constitute the corporate structure of Roll'd. This is one of the most expensive Vietnamese rolls you can buy and at that one of the worst I've had. Large piece of crusty bread filled with dry overcooked pork with a skin that is somehow half soft and half crispy. The fellow ingredients or lack of provided a disappointing, lacklustre experience most likely pinpointed to the fact there was little to no coriander and a pessimistic quantity of sauce/mayo/pate that did not provide adequate lubrication and moisture to the sandwich. Overall it was a large piece of crusty, with pork that had not much moisture than the bread itself and some pickled daikon and carrot. The small independent Vietnamese roll establishments are tastier and cheaper. With that being said the cold rolls are satisfying and tasty however in my opinion too expensive for what you get. Unfortunately this is what happens when the corporate mind gets hold of something that in its most simple form should be good value, delicious and made by some old Vietnamese lady who doesn't speak great English but always takes great care of the customer and has pride in...
Read moreI’m left dumbfounded after my experience today. I ordered veggie spring rolls, the first one was great, definitely a veggie spring roll- super tasty. As I took a bite of the second one I gagged and had to spit it into the bag as it was clearly containing chunks of seafood. As someone who hasn’t eaten meat of any kind in years I absolutely know that it was! So I took them back and politely explained what had happened to the staff, and after a minute or two one of the ladies comes up to me holding a uncooked seafood spring roll and saying “see they are different” they looked EXACTLY the same! I said trust me there is seafood in that half bitten spring roll please look or even smell it it was so obvious that there is. She just kept denying it could be seafood, despite the fact there was chunks of prawn or something in the bag and the spring roll I was trying to show her. In the end I left and said I don’t want them. But I’m appalled I spent money on something I couldn’t eat, no solution was offered, no accountability from the business no offer of even cooking me 2 fresh veggie spring rolls. Clearly that’s not how you run a business, I’m not silly I am 100% certain there was seafood in that spring roll. It’s just not good...
Read moreSubmitted a very large order for office staff. Chose an item that was clearly on the menu to discover later it was no longer offered, no big one, chose another one.
So instead of adjusting our very large order, Roll'd, in their wisdom, decided to cancel the entire order. Well done Roll'd.
Re-submitted the order, it will now be over 1/2 hour later than previously planned... Not suitable considering some had meetings to attend at 1pm. This is why we submitted the order many hours earlier to arrive at 12 noon.
Asked to have every dish marked so we knew 'what was what'... This did not happen. Well done Roll'd.
Asked for NO coriander on a number of dishes... this request was ignored. Well done Roll'd... You are clearly on a 'Roll' today.
Advice to Roll'd... Pay attention to what your customers ask for. We will no longer be using this...
