I do recommend this place. However the stars are because — Customer service is great. Always friendly and helpful.
The cleanliness and organisation of this place is about a 7.8 in my opinion. The seating arrangement are ok. The restaurant is not huge, I believe the arrangement can be better in order to have a bit more space with the same amount of seating still. Car park is located at the back which is not hard to find. Toilets can definitely use some work on terms of cleanliness and look.
The sizzling creamy pepper chicken with rice, is a 15/10.
I have tried their other dishes too.
I feel like it can depend on the days also with their other dishes.
Pho Combination. 8.3 Spicy Beef Noodle. 8.2 Rice Combination. 7.3 Chicken Satay Skewers . 7.7 Thai Laksa. 8 Crispy Chicken Rice. 6.7 Salt and Pepper 8.1 Spring Rolls. 7.8 Mongolian Beef. 7.4 Sweet and Sour Chicken. 7.3 Stir fry Combination w Egg Noodles. 7.5 Stir fry Vegetables. 7.5 Spring Roll Vermicelli. 7.7 I have tried plenty more. Everyone is different with their taste buds and own personal preference. Therefore I cannot exactly explain why I have given certain ratings on each item.
I do return quite a bit mainly for their creamy pepper chicken, sometimes I do try other dishes too and always has been an average dish that could do more or less on some items...
Read moreI actually feel sick, once I stop feeling sick I think I'll be really hungry as I walked out without touching my main. Upon eating my entree of cold rolls- mid way through chewing, mouth full, I looked forward to the counter and saw one of the waitresses in plain sight giving her nose a good pick and then proceeded to eat it. I was shocked. I almost spat my mouthful out. She then went into the kitchen and collected my food and then served it to me. I really tried hard but could just not eat the Pho`. The image kept replaying in my mind. I then saw her pick her nose and have a little snack twice more. So I got up and walked to the counter. I explained to her why I was leaving and she still CHARGED ME FULL PRICE!! I PAID $16.90 for one serve of cold rolls!!! As I walked out I explained to a lady who I assume was the manager/owner what I'd seen and that it had put me right off my food. She didn't even seem sorry. Maybe if they were sorry and agreed how disgusting a thing it was to do, I wouldn't be leaving this review. But other people need to know. If you want to eat there, hope you enjoy your snot food and snot on your fresh sprouts and Thai basil. Enjoy. I'll never go here again, nor will...
Read moreI took my parents here last night for a treat. The food was absolutely lovely especially the salt & pepper crab (Specials board) and it all was good value for money but the night got off to a poor start when we sat down and enquired as to the location of the toilet. They don't have one in the restaurant!!! you've got to be kidding?! The 'facilities' are 2 shops away and up fairly decent flight of stairs. Not good enough in this day and age. Absolutely no mention of this for mobility impaired patrons anywhere! :(
My folks are in their 70s they certainly decided not to consume too much alcohol so as not to be away from the table for any length of time. Very basic décor but the reason we wont be returning is lack of toilets!
I'd say this cost the owners a decent amount as my parents and I don't mind a few cheeky wines with a meal. Edit: I sincerely apologise. I thought I was writing about the Saigon Gate restaurant in O'Connell St...
