Sushi Hiro — Restaurant in Adelaide

Food was good but unfortunately service extremely poor. Waiter was very dismissive and abrupt towards us. We Asked to sit in a booth as 2 were free but waiter wasn’t sure if we were allowed.. Waiter then continued to clean tables and serve customers whom came up after us instead of seating us while we waited. Waiter then took us to the table and walked off. No water or drinks offered. Other customers served straight away by waiter with water, drinks etc but not us. We called the ‘Call waiter’ button on iPad but no response. Waiter walked passed so I asked for water and soup. He said ok and never returned to table. We then left after a few items as did not feel welcomed.. I asked the waiter if the button worked and he said yes it comes up here on the iPad but he didn’t respond. We have been bringing our 2 x adult sons here for a few years now. We first came due to the food being amazing and called prior- kirala sushi, and were ourselves freshly moved to s.a. from w.a. with 1 x of our sons terminally ill and requiring a transplant. So food choices for him at times is specific and his diet limited. Food here is always amazing and the service from the lovely waiter Niraj who we are so thankful stayed with the change of business name, is the reason we return.

The service Niraj gives to all clients who choose to dine here at sushi Hiro Marion is second to none, he's attentiveness to customers, his manner and the cleanliness he gives when flips tables to put us on a booth is always impeccable. I've commented many times about how much of a asset he is so thought I'd better do it on here.

I love the new look of the restaurant and the service was friendly. The sushi plates looked really good until they come around again and again and you realise everything is covered in Mayo or spicy mayo. Besides salmon sushi pretty much everything was drizzled with mayo, was “aburi” style and covered in mayo or rolls with mayo inside. I’m assuming you could possibly order more traditional sushi but I didn’t have time for that. I’d appreciate more of a clean selection of sushi, not...
