It’s OK for a sushi train restaurant. It gets very busy at dinner time even on weekdays as there aren’t that many places open in Marion. The quality and selections on the train are pretty much what you’d find at any reputable Adelaide sushi train outlet - not the best, not the worst, just average. The assembly of the sushi pieces, however, was sub-par on the night we dined. The rice crumbles when you try to pick up a piece of sushi, so there’s no way you can dip the topping in the soy sauce. Moreover, the kitchen seems to have forgotten the dab so sushi between the toppings and the rice! I’d have also preferred a tablet order system to quickly request the items we wanted rather than having to wait for the “train” to see if the item was on it, or trying (and failing!) to catch wait staff. In the end, we just grabbed stuff off the train, and gave up on getting drinks and the sashimi platters and other sides that we wanted.

It was not busy on this occasion we dined in, probably 4 other diners seated at another booth and a solo customer on the other side of the diner. However service was slow, limited food selection circulating so we self ordered from scanning table code since none of the 4 waitresses bothered to acknowledge or make eye contact with our party of 5 after seating. The table and condiments needed a wipe, felt sticky. The menu ordered dishes took too long, and wasn’t that great in taste, not so fresh and the rice was too mushy when half our order finally arrived through reminders. We ended up cancelling the rest of our order and leaving unsatisfied. Wouldn’t recommend coming here for quick sushi.

We did not order from the menu, so there was no waiting time. There are so many items on offer and I can see why some people get disappointed because not all the items listed were available on the train, however still so many other things to choose from. The train is very long, so if you miss something you like you have to wait a while before it comes around again. We went with the ‘boring basics’ - tuna roll, chicken roll etc… everything was nice and fresh. Paid $21 for 2 people so not bad value. Nice for quick simple lunch.

We go here because of previous great experiences in noarlunga. I have to say... the staff attentiveness is basic to average. I would expect when... and IF in this case... you seat me, maybe ask if I'd like a drink at that point. Instead I have to literally stand up and put my hand up and wave around. They have recently introduced table electronic menus, but the drinks don't work on it... so I might as well order everything through the staff member. 70% of the the time... my order is incorrect and w times has taken so long I've had to leave without it. I visit often waiting for change as I love that they are now in marion.

There is no music/atmosphere. The train is so long and slow you can be waiting forever for the thing you like to come around. I like that kintaro have a place in marion and about each month I try to see improvement... slowly there is but it's a long way to get better.

On the upside, when I do receive the food, it's never made me sick and is a 4/5. Burning the rice with aburi food is the thing that brings it down for me. I buy a $6 plate and then my rice is burnt. I will continue to come for another few times and then...

The staff member that led us to our table didn't come back to ask us if we would like to order anything. In fact other patrons that arrived after us were served and had their food delivered to them before we did. I literally had to call out to their servicing staff member for service. At that point the one that led us to our table came to assist. When our hot meals were brought to us, no acknowledgement was made to us either saying the order and enjoy, so it was a bit of an awkward dining experience considering it costs as much if not a bit more than sushi train. The service is much better at sushi train so I recommend going there instead. Only positive is the fried udon and good portioning for hot noodles. Although the Ramen base was tasteless. Even when leaving, we were left wondering if they would even notice if we just left because no one directs you to a cashier or where it is! And staff were more concerned at the front with people taking away. There are better options out there for the amount paid. I'd only return for the fried udon...

Nice atmosphere and experience. We went during a quiet time, so not much food on the train, however staff happily took our order for us. Food was good except the crispy octopus which some of it was so tough it was impossible to chew. When we were ready to leave we motioned a staff member to add up our plates and give us a bill, (a 20 second task), so we could pay our bill and leave. Her mobile rang as she was counting our plates and preparing our bill, and to our surprise, she answered it in front of us, we were shocked when she started a phone conversation right in front of us and walked off! We were left alone, having finished our meal and wanted to pay for it and leave. Couldn't she just let it ring, or at least answer it and tell them to hold, so we could be on our way. We felt that we were not important, she chose her phone conversation over us. We had to wait tor a few minutes longer, with empty plates for another staff member to give our bill so we could leave. Hopefully this was a one-off, and not standard...
