Tea Tree Gully Charcoal Chicken and Seafood — Restaurant in Adelaide

XL chips for $18.90 I have been living around the corner to this shop for over 15 years. We have ordered many times from here and the food quality has always been quite good. Last week we had family over and cooked some burgers on our chargrill, so we phoned ahead for an XL bag of chips to go with our meals. When I called to place the order, I explained we are only 30 seconds away and wanted our chips to be started right away as we would be there shortly. My partner went to pick the order up about 10 minutes later, as to give them time to cook the chips. Once paid for, had to wait quite a while and still no order. Over half an hour had passed from placing the order and they still hadn't started it. I called and the girl apologized and I said I needed my order as the other prepared burgers for our family dinner where going cold. She didn't know what to say, I asked for a small discount for the inconvenience, and she said she will organize it with the owner. Another 15 minutes went by and still no order, so I called again and got a different girl on the phone. I asked to speak with the owner and wanted to cancel my order, instead of putting the owner on the phone, she told me I am not allowed to talk with him as he was too busy. I then said I wanted to cancel my order and she would not do that either. My partner arrived back home with the chips 1 hour later. Dinner was ruined and the majority of the chips were thrown in the bin. We never received a discount. This has been the worst experience ever for such a simple order. At no point did they say they were busy and orders would be delayed, if we knew we would not have placed the order. We will never go back again and I will inform all my friends in the area not to buy from them either. Our experience and treatment was so awful that I wrote this review, my 1st time ever leaving a review, which shows how upset we were. Shame on you for treating your 15 year long loyal local...

What an absolute gem of a place. Paul and his staff are absolutely amazing. We moved back into the area a couple of months ago and my wife is a Coeliac. All the chickens are Gluten free as well as 6 of their salads. We pre-ordered a couple of chickens and a dozen roast potatoes and the food was incredible. In addition to this, because we pre-ordered, we could also order gluten free coleslaw which was to die for. My wife thinks she died and gone to takeaway heaven !!! We cannot recommend them highly enough - the food is second to none and the service is exceptional. Thanks again - you guys are amazing...

I love the food from this store especially being coeliac and it being one of the only GF chicken and chip shops. However it is always really disappointing that every time I call up to order I am told it will be ready in 15 minutes and end up waiting for 30, in some cases more. I have ordered from here numerous times and this is always the case which is very frustrating. Please if you are busy or behind just say so on the phone so people don’t come and have to sit around waiting longer. If it is the policy to pay before food is made, this needs to be communicated and payment can then be made...
