Seemed like a cute, quirky cafe. Prices and menu were good. However, when our meals came out both my partner and I found a hair! Didn't say anything as sometimes these things happen but then my partner started eating his big brekkie to find that the toast was stale and cold, the poached eggs very overcooked AND, baked beans were cold and to top it off there was an egg shell in the meal! We don't normally make a fuss out of these things, especially being hospo workers ourselves, but the way the older lady handled the complaint and talked to us was not professional at all. Instead of dealing with the problem she instead denied that it happened and that they very rarely get complaints when I was clearly holding the egg shell and hair in my hands! Offering a free cake after she'd arked up and given us horrible attitude was not enough to make up for the poor quality meal.

All in all, service was lacking, cleanliness and professionalism abysmal and you'd have a better brekkie at the cafe...

Just had the most incredible breakfast at The Golden Fleece - the food was SO thoroughly wonderful - the serving sizes were robust and presented so beautifully - all the food was super fresh and expertly cooked - the coffee amazing … you have to check out the cake display - all freshly made and OMG the serving sizes were the biggest we’ve seen - all made by hand on the premises and great to take away as after the massive servings of brunch we genuinely couldn’t eat another bite … if that sounds good then guess what? The service is even better - we are from out of town but warmly treated like locals - the staff went out of their way to make us welcome and chat - they were incredibly engaging and honestly all up one of the best cafe experiences we’ve had - will be back to take on the scones - thanks ladies for a great...

Just the pictures speak by itself.

Besides the poor presentation, quality of the bread, temperature and lack of crunchiness for a toast, I would also like to point out:

Customer Service on front counter: Very ok. The lady was friendly and asked/answered what was necessary (nothing beyond than “very OK”);

Timing: Anyone knows that any descent place would serve all clients at once; although my wife and I had to wait over 35 minutes for 2 eggs on toast. The other couple that was o same table, had received their food at least 10 minutes before that. Coffee wasn’t busy, so I don’t know what excuse there would have.

Pouched eggs: (2nd picture) I saw other tables that ordered the same thing and all were overcooked.

By the way, coffee was very good! I won’t blame the barista as apparently she is the only one that knows what...
