China Palace Restaurant - 帝軒酒家 — Restaurant in Alexander Heights

My experience at China Place Restaurant was fantastic from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a nice mix of modern and traditional Chinese mean that made the space feel cozy yet elegant. I was immediately drawn to the extensive menu, which featured a great variety of authentic Chinese dishes. I couldn’t resist trying their noodle, and it did not disappoint—the noodle were perfectly cooked and packed with delicious flavors.

What really made the evening special was the service. My waiter, Duncan, was incredibly friendly and attentive. He made excellent recommendations and checked in on us just the right amount of times without being overbearing. I could tell he genuinely cared about making sure we had a great dining experience.

I also appreciated how accommodating they were with dietary preferences. They had plenty of options for different needs, and the kitchen was happy to adjust dishes when necessary. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, which made the meal feel like a great value.

Overall, I had a wonderful time at China Place. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and I left feeling completely satisfied. I’ll definitely be back to try more of...

I feel bad writing this as the new owners seem very passionate and like they really care about their customers but it has to be shared. We ordered cashew chicken and mixed veggies with garlic sauce today. My first mouthful and the chopsticks came out with a cockroach leg on them. Sadly I couldn't finish the meal. My boyfriend though kept eating. Unfortunately I won't be back. I do recall when they closed and I could see the efforts the new owners were going to in regards to the cleanliness of the place but a cockroach leg in my first bite has truly put me off. Otherwise it would have been a high review. My boyfriend found another leg in his meal so he won't be back either. That's what he gets for taking...

Food is fantastic and the owners and wait-staff are friendly and efficient. Good portion sizes and huge variety of dishes on the menu. My only reservation (no pun intended), and the reason for 4 stars - is that the chairs could all do with a good steam clean. They're fabric and quite obviously dirty. When you're sitting at the table enjoying your meal, looking around the restaurant - the visual of dirty chairs give the impression that cleanliness and hygiene could be lacking. But that's just the impression it gives - I've never been unwell from the food (and I'm susceptible to it big-time if something's even slightly dodgy). But yes, for the sake of impressions, those chairs...
