Katsu Japanese — Restaurant in Western Australia

We ordered Katsu chicken and teriyaki fish bento box.

Firstly, it took 1 hour and 17 mins to arrive via uber eats. The initial delivery time was 40 mins and it kept jumping up after we ordered.

When it finally did arrive it was stone cold.

The teriyaki fish was awful. The teriyaki sauce was overly salty and the fish tasted off. It was an extremely small fillet of fish for the price, basically 4 forkfuls. The rice was gluggy and stuck together and the miso was like salty water. The “salad” was a tablespoon of grated carrot dripping in dressing. The whole thing was thrown in the bin.

The chicken was fine, not great but edible. The rice in this was also gluggy and stuck together and the miso not consumable.

We paid $50 to wait 1 hour and 17 mins to have a stone cold meal delivered and the only part of it that was edible was the chicken.

I tried to call to speak about a refund but no answer and no other means of contacting them to provide a...

I only order from here as it’s the only Japanese place around that will deliver to my address. Most of the menu is not worth ordering - dry, overcooked meats, and mostly tasteless. I recommend the Udon, Ramen, Gyoza, Salt & Chili Chicken Wings, Korokke, and the Agedashi Tofu. The tempura is passable but I really wish they would stop using onion rings and broccoli - they’re just bad! So far I haven’t tried the sushi as I tend to buy that elsewhere.

The restaurant itself is nice. Very small but usually not busy. The food quality doesn’t differ between dine in and takeaway. Since I’ve never seen them busy, food is always brought out or delivered very quickly. Good if you’re hungry. Overall it’s good for a quick meal but the higher prices don’t match the food quality, as it is quite expensive. With a bit of effort, this could be a great local place, but as it is it...

Very poor service.

I was greeted with a sullen and bored looking attitude when I placed my order. I ordered a karaage chicken take away, and just thought she may be having a bad day. 🤷‍♂️

Came back to collect, and was noticed by the person that served me. I sat down to wait. The staff were all in the kitchen laughing and having a jovial time. She comes out to hand me my order, again wearing the same sullen face.

The meal was subsistence simple, the chicken was well cooked though. The little carrot and ginger salad was soggy and low effort. Overall, ok food though priced too high for the quality.

Food, just ok. Service, terrible. Price, too high for product.
