I hope the new owners see this and take the feedback on board. The meal I ordered had sauce that was unpalatably sweet. My son's sauce was unpalatably salted. Note: We are not fussy people, but it was so bad that I have to comment. I had eaten here and had drinks before under the previous ownership and the place was packed, good service and great atmosphere. Last night I was gobsmacked at the drop in atmosphere, quality, service and patronage. The music was basically someone on staff streaming Spotify (or similar) and the music genre paid no attention to the demographic of the clientele - who were mostly middle aged Australians. It was clearly to the taste of the young kitchen staff / bar staff. Basically, soulless club music that no one will remember in 5 years. Worse still, it was bad phone reception or something, as it stopped / cut out roughly every 30 seconds for the entire time we were there! Cocktail list sitting on the counter.... A patron took it to browse and was told they were not doing / serving cocktails. I swear there were 20 people there on a Saturday night and the car park was like a ghost-town. The car park and bar / bistro used to be absolutely packed. Recommendations for improvement: Music to suit the clientele (ask your usual patrons what they'd want to listen to). I'd suggest you put some kind of suggestion box on the counter and people can submit their requests to build a few great play lists (or you could do this via your Facebook page) Serve cocktails (again, ask the people what their favourite 20 cocktails would be) Understand the Australian palate (over sweetening and salting food is a clear indicator the new owners are not used to the western diet). Again, ask your patrons what they think. I would be more than happy to come and food test to help you understand what people like (in general) Prices are too high for what you're serving. Honestly, your business is going to fold very soon if you don't take this advice on board. I say this in the hope you will turn it around - and not to disparage you. I'm happy to help and will take this Google review down if you consult with someone who understands what...
Read moreThis was a previous 5 star but I have changed it to a 1 star because.
The price of jugs of Coke were $10 about 1 year ago. The prices were increased to $11 recently. Then when I went last night we were charged $14 for a jug. That is a 27% increase on the last price rise. On the recent change or 40% increase on the price from last year we'll above inflation.
The menu has not been upgraded despite new owners taking over the venue. It is the same old menu that has been there for probs 5 years. There is not much variety on the dessert menu either. Much the same for the last 5 years.
Since the new owners took over the pub the BBQ ribs have significantly got worse. I use to enjoy the tender ribs at the heights. The ribs now taste like as if the flavour is added after its cooked rather than cooked with it to infuse.
The sour cream and chilli sauce containers are now smaller paper tubs that have very little volume. There is barely enough sour cream to cover 5 wedges.
The positive I can give is that the Curries are good, very tasty and spicy. The service is good, very pleasant.
We have been regulars at the heights for more than 10 years attending the quiz nights weekly on Wednesdays and the odd Saturday.
We have lately reduced our attendance at the pub in view of finding another venue to spend our money. In the last 2 months we have reduced our attendance approximately 50%
Update 10 July 2024 They charge $6.5 for can of Coke, don't sell jugs. Very very poor service. We won't be back. Long time regulars and never again.
They forget our booking again
The stuffed our order up
The chips were bad
We have to wait an extremely long time...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this pub for the last three years and always loved the food and the service but today my disabled friend and I had the worst experience we’ve ever had from staff and the chef. We ordered steaks which we always do every week but today we couldn’t even get our knives through it because they were tough and mostly gristle. I sent them back and the young waitress was very kind and brought us out two more steaks which, once again my friend couldn’t cut hers and I had to spit mine into a serviette because I just couldn’t chew it. I sent them back again to her only to receive a mouthful from the chef and shaking his head and said “you two are the only complaints we’ve had” and walked off. The other waitress also said we tried the first steak and didn’t see a problem with it. We were made to feel that we were just there to complain when they know us and we’ve NEVER had a complaint before!! I was then told by the waitress we are no longer welcome to their establishment!! If this is the way they treat people and take our complaints so personally they don’t deserve us to come back anyway. We left in tears feeling humiliated and embarrassed. Brush up on your customer service. We will certainly be telling others of this disgraceful rudeness. I don’t think I’ve ever been so humiliated in my life. We were quite within our rights to send back food that we could not chew or cut through!! Upset...
