Balina RSL Club offers a decent casual dining experience, particularly for sports enthusiasts. The spacious cafe on level one provides a comfortable setting to enjoy a meal while catching your favorite sporting events on the numerous screens.

I had lunch there recently, I indulged in a tasty hamburger ($16), enhanced with crispy chips (+$5) and bacon (+$4) - yukie's a $25 hamburger (with member discount). The addition of my go-to beer, Carli Cream (schooner $10), on tap was a delightful surprise. However, the service was a bit inconsistent. While the staff was polite, the lost coffee order was a minor hiccup. Given the technology being used, I was amazed they lost the order - I even had the buzzer... Anyways, kind of summed up the lunch.

While the food is acceptable, it feels a bit overpriced for an RSL. When I was leaving in noticed a $20 members' special for a 200g steak, veg/chips, and a pot of beer (in the ground floor restaurant) seems like a more enticing option.

Overall, Balina RSL Club is a convenient choice for a casual lunch or a drink with friends, especially if you're looking for a spacious, air-conditioned environment. While the location and appearance is great, don’t be fooled by the lure of the kids area, that this is a kid friendly location to eat- we found that it wasn’t at all.

We were seated (by the staff) well away from every other diner with a large group including 4 toddlers under the age of 4. They all sat great through dinner then as toddlers do became a bit antsy and all started to play on the nearby stage (next to us and away from any other diners). As kids do, they were laughing and giggling and within minutes we had a staff member come down and demand while standing by the adjacent table that our kids ‘stop squealing, they are too loud and we can hear them at the other end of the building’ we then promptly gathered our children before she again repeated directly to the toddlers to ‘stop squealing, no more’ like they would understand this demand.

We were not impressed at how rude this was. Sure, I would understand if she had kindly asked that the kids not play on the stage, or if they had of been yelling and screaming continuously but this was really excessive for a place that claims kid friendly.
