I had entered the restaurant by accident as i was meeting some family for dinner. A miscommunication over text caused me to enter this restaurant (thai by night) instead of the originally planned establishment, (Thai on high). After entering I noticed the restaurant felt cramped and had a low quality overtone to it. After placing me and my family member at a table for 4, a big bloke who seemed to own the establishment came out and told us to move to a table cramped next to the wall. At this point we realised we where at the wrong restaurant which was an honest mistake as they have similar names. The person with me decided to inform the man serving us that we had gone to the wrong restaurant and there is no longer a need to serve us. At this point the man cracked a grin at us and for some reason felt the need to yell out “YOU GUYS WENT TO THE WRONG RESTAURANT!?” Letting everyone know we had made a mistake. We laughed a little but didn’t find it THAT amusing. We then started walking towards the door when the man decided to yell something in the lines of “THESE GUYS WENT TO THE WRONG PLACE! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!” To the large group of people sitting across the room. Everyone looked at us as we walked out of the restaurant, some even laughed a little but during the whole scenario I had to fight the urge to flip the dude off.
I did end up going to Thai on high with the people I was supposed to meet and had a great experience there as the service was fast and satisfying while the actual restaurant was roomy and professional. I would definitely recommend going to Thai on high instead of this crummy place.
Although I hadn’t actually tasted the food at Thai by night, I feel as though the 1 star rating...
Read moreThis restaurant was quite a nice place and the food was certainly quite good even if it is somewhat variant from what was advertised on the menu - that is, what you order is not precisely what you get. Nevertheless, let me state clearly that that is neither a complaint nor the rule, it was just my experience and while what I ordered was different from what I received, the thing that I received was still more or less what I was looking for - that being something tasty but equally importantly, healthy.
Succinctly, the staff are friendly and accommodating, the food is good and arrives quickly and it is be why oh (AKA BYO) alcohol and they are happy to bring you the glasses that your table requires.
One thing that I would certainly recommend if you plan to dine-in as opposed to take-out then you should book in advance as while I was there, in a relatively short period of time there were several people who could not be seated while concurrently many tables and chairs were being shuffled to try to make the most of the limited space they had. Let it be clearly said that this may speak more to the quality of the food In relation to the available space in their restaurant than some lack of logistics or...
Read moreI booked a table on 27th December for lunch on the 3rd January for 4 people for my friends 84th Birthday. I travelled from the Gold Coast & when we arrived at the restaurant there was a sign on the door saying "Closed for Lunch today"!!!! You can imagine our disappoint as no one from the restaurant contacted me to advise they would be closed. They had taken my phone number when I made the booking on 27th December. I rang Thai By Night the same evening & spoke to the Manager who claimed she tried to ring me & also sent me an SMS. I had no missed calls or SMS from the Manager on my phone. She is obviously being untruthful. I will not be recommending Thai By Night to my friends or family & strongly advise anyone thinking of making a booking not to. The Manager was quite abrupt with me & had no regard for the fact I had travelled so far only to be very disappointed. Appalling Customer...
