Deccan Indian (Highton) — Restaurant in Barwon South West

Called and ordered food, told me to come in at certain time to pick it up, went in there and waited almost 45-50 minutes to pick it up. No apologies or whatsoever from the receptionist. There was no salt in my dish, so I called, they’ve told me that they’ll replace it and I was happy about it. And again No apologies for it and asked me to handover the food, I did. Came back with the “New” food after a while. Whole staff looked at me as I’m lying to get free food. Even the “New” food is as bad as the old one but with the salt. It didn’t even feel like it’s replaced. I’ve had bad customer service here before, but I was happy with the food, now both are bad. Customer service is so bad, they are so rude I’m sorry to say this but especially one particular girl. I’ve been a regular to this restaurant since my uni days but not anymore. I know you guys were busy but a simple apology wouldn’t take long to make, instead I had to say “I’m sorry to do this but it’s inedible” and No response from the...

Terrible. Cant even fill a container. Overpriced. Chicken was extrenely dry and tough. Containers only 3/4 full. Do not recommend.

(in response to your reply) If you dont fill the container to prevent spillage then why do you glad wrap the container? Every other indian resturaunt fills the container and wraps it with no issues. USE LARFER CONTAINERS THEN. The chicken was tough and dry. Probably pre cooked. The meals were prepped in 15 minutes. When its that fast, i question the cooking method. Doesnt matter what part of the chicken you used. I refused a refund because the time it takes to drive to your shop is not worth it. You dont get that satisfaction when the food was that bad and portion size was so small.$48 for some plain rice, 2x 3/4 curries and chicken tikka entre' that was terrible...

The food is amazing and always tastes great. No inconsistency with flavours.

However, their service is lacking greatly. I order online via their website and waited the 30 minute wait time. Upon arriving, they didn't have the order and clearly lost it. I had to wait another 45 minutes for them to get my order. They didn't apologise or explain what happened, they just made me wait. All the while, they kept serving walk-ins and making their food first. Another time they made us wait 20 minutes only to realise it was sitting on the counter the whole time. Unfortunately, the front of house staff don't have the best organisation skills.
