My partner and I have been to Kholis’ Batsman’s Bay three times now. First time was good. Second time we had been waiting a long time for our food to arrive and people that came in long after us received their’s first before us. Left a really bad taste in our mouths but the management were apologetic about the situation and gave us one free drink for their error. Knowing what happened last time we gave them a second chance and we ended up having our date night there on Saturday night and we’re incredibly, sorely disappointed yet again but this time it was the staff, one in particular. The food was so very slow and we were ordered to be out for 7:15pm as they needed 15 minutes to clean our table which is just ridiculous to say the least. We received our food 6:55pm when we had been waiting since 5:50pm. More than an hour for our main meals and then we had issues with the waiter with the long curly hair, Jesse. He was incredibly rude and abrupt with us telling us he needed our table at the window for everyone coming in for the next seating. There were three tables in the whole restaurant including us, with quite a lot of staff on for the night. It does only takes 1 to 2 minutes to clean and set up a table. He ordered us out, speaking sharp and abruptly which was so unnecessary. We force fed ourselves as we were running out of time because of how late the food was to arrive. He wasn’t ordering the other tables out, just us. He stated that he needed the window table but yet there was a completely vacant set up one straight next to us all ready to go with no one walking in. Not everyone arrives straight on 7:30pm for the next sitting either. There was no way he needed to speak in that manner and address us as he did. He should learn a few manners indeed and not be in the job he is in, representing Kholis. We will NOT be back, they can shove their slow service and their lack of customer service where the sun doesn’t shine! One star for...
Read moreBeing local and having not been out to dinner for a long time, we were excited to try Kohli’s for my husbands birthday and having heard from other locals that it was great. We arrived for our 7.30 booking on Saturday the 17th October and were delighted by the ambiance in the restaurant with beautiful lighting and scenery. When we walked in the door I was surprised no one really greeted us and just stood there until we were told just to wait near the door while our table was getting clean which was fine. We were then taking to our table and even though all staff were wearing mask you could tell the girl that seated us wasn’t really welcoming. We had a great table or bench which we thought was the perfect spot. Private and great views. After we were seated with our menus we sat for around 20mins before we notice people that were seated after us already had there order taken and had drinks and entree before we were even asked what we wanted. Anyway once we ordered our drinks and entree came really fast and was delicious. Our plates were cleared quite quickly and did get asked if we would like another drink then. After sitting there until 8.45 and watching all other table finish there meals and start to leave we were still waiting for our mains. The staff seem to just keep avoiding our table making no eye contact so I could ask them. Finally I got someone’s attention so they went to check. I think it was the owner who came back to us and apologised and said the chef had forgot our meals and the food would be out in 2mins, which it was but by that time we were just really wanted to leave. Anyway the meals were wonderful when they finally came, but not sure if we will return, not in the near...
Read moreA place with such a nice view and ambience but failed to keep us satisfied. We had (2adult+2kids) dinner on Thursday 28 Nov. We took our chances to try this place as we didn't had reservations and we got the seat but nothing good happened after that. Service staff was so confident of taking order and memorising it that she forgot half of order. kids order which suppose to come first came half that in middle. We got starter which was highly disappointing and main course came.... n we finished our dinner. then so our forgotten cocktail came which I was expecting at start of dinner. And don't talk about kids cheese naan. For this kids forgotten order she wasn't even sorry. when we said it's ok we do not want now then she forced us tat oo I placed order I can't cancel. Which we took as take away and throw in bin. What I didn't like most why it's ok to being a customer and they expect you to pay but they can't cancel one Naan order. In my experience it was total waste of $110 + time instead we should stayed at home and prep something nice for ourselves. And their disappointing behaviour has not finished their, when we express our view we endure getting answer oo we were not expecting to be busy as we got only 22 ppl booking. So my point why to take table when can...
