Title: Exceptional Service and Warm Hospitality at The Crate, Belmont
My family and I recently celebrated my mum and dad’s 25th wedding anniversary at The Crate in Belmont, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make this milestone celebration truly special.
Outstanding Service by Jay Jay Our waitress Jay Jay was an absolute delight. She took the time to engage with my son—making him laugh and even seating him by the fish tank whenever he got grumpy. Her thoughtful attentiveness and warm demeanor made all the difference. Jay Jay was always checking in to see if we needed anything else, and her excellent customer service truly stood out.
Warm Welcome from the General Manager The general manager also deserves high praise. He greeted us with genuine friendliness and was incredibly accommodating throughout our meal. He even presented my parents with a lovely card to commemorate their 25th anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch. His approachable manner and willingness to ensure our comfort added to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant.
Overall Experience The Crate in Belmont offers not only delicious food but also a family-friendly environment where every guest feels valued. The combination of Jay Jays attentive care, the manager’s warm hospitality, and the special anniversary card made our visit memorable. We’ll definitely be returning—and recommending The Crate to friends and family! Highly recommend here! Delicious food excellent service

Read moreLast night was by far the best experience I've had at The Cray. The food, the service and the atmosphere was well executed! Compaired to when I used to come here a few years ago. Was pretty packed so we understood why there would be a bit of a wait for our food and no complaints there as I'm sure they pushed our food out as fast as they could. The staff here are very pleasant every single one greeted us and asked how the food was or if we needed anything else. If I'd had cash to leave a tip in their jar I'd have done so! We ordered the chowder which was delicious and a generous portion, however didnt come with bread as the waiter stated (lucky id read the menu as it doesnt state there is bread with it) and glad we ordered a side of garlic bread . Seafood sensation (came with a side of bread) and my favourite of the night FRESH chilli, lime and coriander oysters DELICIOUS!! We couldn't eat it all and took home our leftovers for 2. You could easily order too much food here and looking at the platters I would reccomend you allow this for 3 people with added sides because there is no way my partner and I could demolish all of that had we tried it. Saw many people left with leftovers and also alot of food left in plates such a shame to see some of it go to waste. Smaller portions for slightly less cost or up the limit of people to the platters to avoid this is all I reccomend other than that there is no real complaint here. Well done the cray. The desserts looked amazing as well but we just couldn't fit it in and the sticky date pudding was a big hit as they had none left for us to take away...
Read moreCame here for lunch twice this month (2 & 21/6/2022). Environment: bright, clean and tidy. Simple decoration with a big fish tank in front of the cashier. Spacious. Has a little room for function. Easy parking in the front. 7.5/10 Service: polite, gentle and attentive. Reasonable waiting time for platter, basically fast. Also would open the door for us when we left. Fine dining standard. Felt like 5 star hotel. --- 8.7/10 Food: well presentation. Price ok. Good portion. Very happy to have large prawns in the dishes. Potato Chips was very crispy especially in single dishes (just crispy in the platter). Mocktail- The Cray, $10: ok. Too much ice for my liking. The Crayless Platter, $109: 6 big creamy garlic prawns and Grilled crumbed Fish (2ps) were outstanding, and 10 chili mussels was also good but not spicy. Other elements were ok. Two pcs of Battered fish was too greasy for my liking. --- 8/10 (overall) 2/6/2022: Seafood Chowder, $24.9: not the sticky one. Slightly salty, but ok. A lot of fresh seafood (prawns Mussels, fish, and Squid) was big size. Bread on top was a bit hard --- 7.3/10 Crayfish, Mornay, $44/ Half: not bad. But potato chips were more yummy. --- 7.5/10 Spaghetti Marinara, $38: the selection of the seafood is same as the Chowder, but slightly overcooked. The sauce tasted weird at first...
