The park is absolutely beautiful specially for the summer ,hence I have decided to do my son's birthday party as it's going to be a nice warm day and this park has came to my attention with all the promotion that 'It's one of the successful project done by the council for this year'. Any way on the bday morning there happen to be about 8 parties in that park and it's not that of a big space. Before the party was over I realised my guests had to rush out because they found out they were getting fines for parking down the boat harbour area parking, it's a huge space btw, as there were no enough parking at the park. 8 people from my party that I am aware of got $85 fines. I bet there will be a lot more for all the people that were there on that day.
I don't think that was fare what's done by the council, doing all the promotion and getting all the attention then giving tickets when people comes especially when it's something that requires planning weeks ahead. I don't know what's they're going to do about it but if you're thinking about doing your party there ,be...
Read more*update: visited today and the water is on! Fabulous! Top area has most spray and fountain type water play for running through, bottom area is calmer with a bit of a shallow (ankle deep) pool. Will be amazing in summer time. I've updated photos too!
Great little park that's been recently reopened after a long time redevelopment.
There is extensive waterplay/splash pad there, maybe the largest free waterplay in Perth. It wasn't turned on yet since it's winter, but I can't wait to visit in hotter weather, kids will love it.
There's also nature playgrounds at the top area near a tables and chairs area that I think you can reserve. There's BBQ's there and grassy area too.
While we were there they were still putting fencing up, so I think the entire area will be fenced which will be good for little runners!
It is right up against the wetlands, so good view of bird life and the river. There's toilets and warm water showers for the waterplay facilities. The park has a small parking lot, but I imagine in summertime it will fill up...
Read moreFree entry, opens at 9, parking fills up quickly, off site parking is quite a walk away Unisex, individual toilets, plenty of them. 2 x bbq's only Not a lot of space, be prepared to picnic with your neighbour A few 'nature playground' upgrades one of which is a climbing structure with large rocks underneath it, not a great idea for if/when a child falls off it?!!! Really not a lot of water play at all, I think 'waterland' should be renamed No cafe just one man running a coffee van and one man running a japanese food van which i think is an interesting food choice If you remember the water playground before the upgrade, you will definitely be disappointed Apparently $4m upgrade, very dissapointing! Won't bother going back again and wouldn't...
