Fairbairn Bakery — Restaurant in Blackwater

I frequent this bakery regularly, normally at the door as soon as they open at 4am. The mud cupcakes are amazing 90% of the time. Normally the service is on point to. However, this morning I was the second person in the store, 4.04am, and purchased 12 mud cupcakes and a H&C toastie, yet was still waiting for my goods at 4.20am! In fact I was still waiting on the boxes to be put together! Now I could clearly see they were busy, but there were 4 staff on and only 1 serving! I eventually politely mentioned that my bus leaves for work soon and am still yet to grab my lunch, so I will put the boxes together, which I was hopeless at, and packed half of my order in (the server managed to pack the other half). Then I stood there waiting while they continued to serve other people! She eventually saw me smiled and that's when I mentioned I had a H&C toastie too. By the time I got back to my camp, unloaded the goods & grabbed my bags, the bus was pulling up to take me out to work. Now I am furious. Today will be a completely crib free day (I work in maintenance and am normally starving by first crib) plus our crew are saying goodbye to one of our most valued workers. I'm sorry guys, this is the second time your sandwiches have been absolute garbage so now it's time for a review to let you know it's not ok, if you expect us to pay top dollar, we want to be receiving a top dollar sandwich, it's only fair.

Usually (on a good day) the sandwiches and your other wonderful bakery goods are top shelf and the service is great but lately the food quality has dropped off and this is the second time I've purchased a corned meat and pickle sandwich and gotten mostly a corned meat gristle sandwich. The butter and pickles barely make it to the halfway mark on the bread and I don't know where you're getting your meat from but it's garbage.

Drove through Blackwater with intentions of calling into Macca's for coffee. Saw Fairbairn Bakery and decided to stop there instead. So glad I did, amazing selection of cakes and sweets and great coffee as well. Sausage roll I had was on point also. Friendly servers and a nice little bakery/cafe overall.
