The Stunned Mullet — Restaurant in New South Wales

Just moved into the area.Went down to get fish n chips for the family.Fish,and calamari was ok.but the chips?? Seriously.i got french fries that tasted like they were bought from a supermarket.and were cold before I could even get home 2 mins away. A few days later i called to give some feedback. I was polite.Asked to speak with the manager.Girl said she was.I explained that the food was fine but if i wanted french fries i could go to one of the many fast food places that seem to be everywhere.For what i paid i expected a little bit better.In fact a lot better. I politely offered some advice to at least offer the option to have nice standard non shoe string chips.Because for me, when i go to the fish n chip shop i never expect to get shoe string french fries. I expect that from Maccas,KFC or Hungry jacks. This is when the girl on the phone got defensive and said that many of their customers like french fries. When i suggested at least give customers the option or trial regular thicker chips or potato wedges she said yeah that wont be happening. As if to say "what would you know". Well i might not know much but I do know this.i will never eat there ever again.And will tell anyone that wishes to listen to do the same.. A simple thanks for the feedback and we will take it on board would have sufficed.Not some smart arse employee telling me what would i know,. In my opinion overpriced and overated.If you dont wish to listen to customers then dont work in a customer service industry.Remember, at the end of the day customers are the one's that...

Was really looking forward to eating at this fish and chip shop but we had a pretty average experience. We waited outside for ages for our food and I went into check they hadn’t forgotten us, after another 15 minutes, ( we waited 30) in total, someone finally came out and said our name. Unfortunately she said our order had been left inside for ages and they couldn’t see us and everything was cold. We are a family of 4 and playing a”name the fish” game with our children 3 and 5 ) to try and keep them occupied as they were starving and no one had come and shouted our name. I was really unhappy and asked the girl for our money back,I wasn’t prepared to wait while they recooked the food as the children were so hungry. The girl said she wouldn’t give us our money back only let us have a store credit and I explained we weren’t local but she still refused- I’m not sure this is even legal!!!! We ended up eating the cold food and at least the girl did agree on my suggestion that the children could have a free drink. Aside from that the customer toilet was filthy, no hand soap, overflowing bin dirty amenities, really not what I would expect in Australia, I’ve seen better in provincial China! This is the first bad review I have ever written but the experience warrants my time and effort! Hope they address these issues, particularly the hygiene standards ASAP, everyone wants to see small...

Just want to preface that it’s Easter Friday and understandably busy.

Firstly we ordered two serves of barramundi and a large chips, 2 drinks, and a pineapple fritter. After waiting 50 minutes and seeing multiple people who ordered after us get their food, we asked about ours and we’re told it was 5 mins away. The girl was really very lovely and gave us two sauces for free for the inconvenience.

Once we got home, we opened it up and the fillets were like in the photo above. One was absolutely tiny and thin compared to the other, a half a serve is being generous with that description. And the pineapple fritter was missing.

We called up and it turned out the guy input our order wrong, so we got a small chips, and no pineapple fritter. So it turns out we hadn’t paid for a large or fritter, but it was a let down to get all the way home with the wrong order and such a small amount of food.

The food itself tasted good though.

I’ve never written a bad review in my life, but just feel a bit cheated so...
