Unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience last night at the Carseldine restaurant. I was shown to a table in the outside dining area but that was the last time I saw a waiter. The sign said table service, but after 15 minutes of waiting, we used the app at the table. The app said that if we all selected our food at the same time, it would be delivered within 5 mins of each other. My drink arrived shortly after but no one else’s. About ten minutes later, a waiter wandered over and asked if we had any other drinks. I said yes and stated which ones. He wandered back to the bar. I saw the bartender making one of the drinks and the waiter looking around for where to deliver it to. I waved and he eventually brought it over. No food or drink was brought out for another 45 minutes and then a waiter brought a burger out and asked if it was ours. It was not what I had ordered so he left and asked another table. He came back to us and asked again what we had ordered. Apparently it was my brisket burger. I accepted it and it was lukewarm. But my chips that I had ordered and paid for did not come with it. Another ten minutes passed and I saw a waiter wandering around with one of my friend’s orders. We waved him down and he brought it to us. Eventually the third drink was delivered and spilled on the table. No napkins or cutlery was provided. After both my friend and I had finished our meals but our 3 other friends meals had not even arrived, I questioned a waiter when it might be brought out. He said that there was a long wait and that he was new. He wandered off and brought back another waiter who asked who had complained. I stated that I wasn’t complaining, just asking where my friends meals were. He asked what they had ordered - ribs and loaded fries. He said they would be out shortly. About ten minutes passed and he brought out the fries and plopped them on the table and muttered that the ribs would be out soon. The fries were lukewarm. Eventually the ribs arrived and they were cold, as were the chips. They were also not cooked properly. My friend complained and asked for a refund which was given. We...
Read moreArrived at 5 Boroughs Carseldine to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were shown to an outdoor table and this was the last time we saw a staff member for ages.
After 30 mins of waiting for table service, we ordered online. One of our drinks came out however we had to ask for the rest of our drinks.
We then waited a further 15 minutes and one of our meals came out. It was a burger which the waiter didn't seem to know what it was and it was missing it chips.
Another several minutes later, another meal arrived. We then asked about the rest of our meals. The waiter said he would have to ask someone else about them. The other staff member didn't seem to know what to do and then proceeded to say he would have to get someone else for complains. When we explained we aren't complaining we just need to know what is happening with our meals as it had been an hour. He then said they would be coming. However, he didn't check with anyone. This comment appeared to be a standard response.
Another meal finally arrived shortly after. The waiter threw the plate on the table and walked away. Not only was this rude and unnecessary; the meal was cold and appeared to have been made a while ago and sitting here. To eat her meal, she had to go up the bar staff and ask for some cutlery.
We asked about our final meal and they said it wasn't far away. It finally arrived after 1.5 hours of waiting and it also arrived cold. We took this meal back to the bar and complained about it. The staff member took it and a what I can only assume was the Manager came out and asked what the issues was. I explain the disappointing evening and meals we had experienced. He proceeded to give a load of excuses.
I told the Manger that his excuses were not good enough and that we just wanted the meal refunded and an apology should have been provided. We thankful got that at least.
If no stars could be given, I honestly would have done it. Very disappointing evening. Would not...
Read moreWent on a Sunday night early evening. We were informed that happy hour was still running so we ordered cocktails. At the same time, we ordered food for a table of 12. Drinks arrived 1 hr and 5 mins after order.
One of the servers approached the table several times enquiring if we had ordered certain dishes. It seems that no table number was placed on the order and the waiter took our food order again. Food finally began to arrive one at a time 1hr and 55 mins after initial order. Unfortunately because there was effectively only 2 servers and sometimes 1, the food sat on the pass for at least 20 mins. This meant that the food was cool upon hitting the table. As a result, 5 of the 12 meals were returned to be recooked, meaning another 30 mins of waiting.
The quality of the meals was less than mediocre as well. One had a hair in it. The young male server was very apologetic and appeared to be the leader of the night.
We had to locate our own cutlery and serviettes throughout the service also.
Upon payment of the bill, we enquired why the service was incredibly poor, as was the food. The explanation given was that a staff member went sick at 5:30pm that day. Had customers including us been informed upon check in, we would have opted not to attend this premise. Instead, customers were welcomed and at least 7 tables approached the staff throughout the night complaining about the lack of service and quality of meals. Im assuming these customers were not informed upon entry either.
A 25% reduction was made off the bill, however they weren't able to process the bill separately. Upon exiting I realised that they had also charged full price for all the so called happy hour cocktails (approx $120 worth).
Overall this was a complete disaster of a night in terms of their hospitality. We...
