Little Red Dumpling Carseldine — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I would NEVER go to this restaurant EVER again!!!!!!! I phoned up when leaving home to place an order for pick up, only to be told to hold when they answered. I then waited on hold for over 10 mins while I listened to them talk between themselves. They picked up the phone when I arrived at the store and said they forgot. I was outside the restaurant and gave my order over the phone. Then waited 20mins for my food to be ready and I watched a staff member give it to another staff member and point to me outside and he brought it out. I said I still need to pay and he replied saying it was all taken care of. I thanked him and appreciated they recognised they left me on hold for 10 mins and the long wait. As I was driving off I was chased into the car park by the same staff member I placed the order with that gave the food to his colleague to bring out to me. He said I must come back inside now and pay and the other staff member was new. I was literally made to feel belittled and embarrassed by having to find another park and come in and pay. I asked several times for the manager or owner and the young boy that was serving me declined every request and said there were no managers or owners on site and he would pass on the message for me. I was then made to pay full price in front of several staff and customers whilst being refused any request to speak to a manager. I got home FURIOUS hoping the food would be great and I would forget about feeling belittled and embarrassed however they got the order wrong and the lamb ribs resembled a decaying carcuss of bones that you literally had to see to believe. End result - we had to go and buy Maccas for dinner and completely wasted $45 and over an hour of my time. I can’t believe a licences restaurant was solely being run by 3 young boys under the age of 19/20 with NO management on site. I tried to leave a review on their Facebook page however they have reviews turned off. I’m guessing I know why!

PLEASE - DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! Im in disbelief of the deplorable service and experience I had with the staff and restaurant tonight and I don’t wish that on anyone!!!!

Terrible service and food.

They kept bringing wrong orders. I couldn't start to eat my dishes or talk to my friends, as I had to explain those were wrong orders every time they brought wrong dishes.

All of the noodles were not cooked enough and stuck to each other. It was hard to eat.

Cutlery were not served with foods. I had to tell them two times for that, and it took several minutes to get those.

I ordered "NO SPICY chicken noodle" for my 7-year-old son, but they brought "MILD SPICY' one, as one of the many wrong orders. So, my son had to wait for no spicy one for a long time, after everyone else started to eat their dish.

Later, he brought it and said it was "NO SPICY" one, when everyone else almost finished their meals. Then, my son finally started to eat, but after eating a bit. He said it was SPICY. My wife and I had a bit to check it, and it was a bit spicy, and I found a bit of big chili powders in the dish.

At that time, everyone else finished their meals, and we didn't want to wait again for it. So, I brought the dish to the counter and asked them to remove this order from the bill. The lady owner refused it, as we ate some of the dish. I explained my son tried to eat at first, then my wife and I had a bit to check it was spicy or not.

But, the lady owner didn't talk to me after that, and the other three staff kept asking me what was wrong one by one, and I saw the lady owner scolded the staff who served us the wrong dish in Chinese language. It looked like she scolded him for serving the wrong dish, but never talked to me again, and one of the other staff said that "This amount of chili wouldn't affect the level of spicy", but it was supposed to be "NO spicy". And the other staff asked me "Do you want to pay for it?" again. I said that "I think it has to be removed from the bill", then the same thing repeated again and again.

I got very angry but I had to make the full payment to leave the place, as they never removed it from the bill. They just ruined my dinner time with my friend's family. I will never go...

My friend and I decided to try the little red dumpling at carseldine. We have been to the Sunnybank and Newmarket ones and they have been fantastic both with food quality and service. The carseldine restaurant was appalling and most disappointing. We attended on a Tuesday night and it was busy with only one person attending to tables. This person was rude and not welcoming at all. We ordered our food and decided after approx 1 minute to change one of the dumpling plates. We approached the waiter who advised us no changes can be made to the order as they were too busy and the dumplings were already made. We received our first plate after approx ten minutes however the dumplings which we were informed were ready, was the last plate to come out to the table a whole 25 minutes later. After approx ten minutes the waiter came and collected dirty plates from the table beside us, during this the waiter has dropped a dirty plate onto our table. The sauce that was left over on the plate has then splashed all over me and the table. At the end of our meal we took up with the owner who advised a 5% discount would be given and they were having an unusually busy night. The experience would not have been so bad if the waiter’s attitude was more positive and welcoming. Personally I will not re-attend this restaurant due to the experience...
