My friend Sam took me to this quaint little Afgani restaurant to thank me for helping in getting a fantastic BMW motorcycle. (its better than mine... I hate you Sam.) I have never been to an Afgani place before, but I must say that I was very impressed by the Courtois and friendly staff and flavour and tenderness of the food. THE BEST RICE I HAVE EVER HAD! I ordered the "Mixed Plate" @ $36.00 and along with the beautifully cooked fluffy rice, every mouthful was exquisite. However I was not a fan of the yogurt drink... must be an acquired taste. We have been wanting to try this cuisine for such a long time and we finally got the chance to try it. Firstly we rarely do takeaways. We always prefer to eat at the restaurant. This time we ordered the takeaways to enjoy at home. We absolutely enjoyed our two dishes. We ordered the Lamb Shank (Slow cooked tender lamb shank served with rice and side salad) and the Chenjeh Kebab (Charcoal-grilled lamb cubes, served with rice, green salad and sauce). The lamb shank fell off the bone. The Charcoal grilled lamb was cooked to perfect. The bread was crispy and just so tasty. We Will definitely be back to taste...
